Dave, Why are you so interested in those? Get the better PSUs and don't let your wife comes after you with a loud LIVE "hifi" sound. I believe you still can hear sensibly without hearing aids like my father, right?

Hi Guys, Perhaps I didn't phrase my question very well . I was coming at this from the point of view of what it was rather than should I buy one. That is, I was puzzled by it's description - is an inverter converter the same as a transformer or does it do things differently and, if so, does that difference offer any potential benefits in audio applications? Chong, regarding hearing aids, yes, I'm afraid I've reached the age where I need help in both ears with hearing both ends of the audio spectrum due in some part to a working life in the heavy steel industry for many years. Dave It is just a Switchmode Power Supply in a metal case, with screw terminals for the output leads. Alex
