The DX6i is a very sophisticated transmitter. Not too necessary for an MCX2 tbh but brilliant for any future upgrades. I may get one myself some time.
I really like the DX5e, but I'll sell that on and get the programmable 6i for the 120 SR which would improve it no end.
The 5e can be had new for around £50 which is quite a lot cheaper than the 6i, but it's not programmable although the way it works is a lot more civilised than the Blade transmitters.
I would only consider the 6i if I was contemplating moving on to a more difficult heli. The MCX2 almost flies itself. However, it's a different story with the MSR or 120 SR.
If you're not considering upgrading in the future, I would seriously consider a new dx 5e. Perfect for the CX2. (or even the dx4)

have ordered some spare batteries. is there a cheaper alternative to the 4-port celectra charger available?
just re-read an earlier post by Mike. where can i get one of the 10 port chargers that you mention?
