Go for it, another £10 for possible/probable improvements has got to be worth a punt. What Rega do you have there, Paddy, a P3/24 or a Planar 3?

I only have a p2 i bought about 9 years ago I have changed the feet for 3 oak cones, replaced the powercord for a kimber reference, changed the felt mat for the full ringmat system and put a 2mm spacer under the arm Would like to have the tonearm (rb250) rewired, but will have to live with it for now, but sounds a hell of a lot better than when unmodded. I havent changed the belt on this, so i think it is time for a new belt. paddy

Yup, I have experienced the same description as what your link described for my SOTA TT. Go for it. It will be worthwhile and that belt seems to be better spec than my SOTA belt.
Btw, have you changed the counter weight for your RB250?

My RB250 is on a systemdek. It is not that difficult to rewire it yourself; the Cardas wire is available on ebay for £10 per foot. I found it cheaper (though it adds a soldered joint) it use an old (in my case Chord) interconnect to the bottom of the arm and then rewire the internals of the arm with Cardas. With tags it costs me about £25. I also fitted a Mitchell counterweight (£70). Overall these changes allowed me to use the RB250 instead of a Roksan Artimiz which I then sold for £275 !!. Not meaning to be too negative about a new belt but just fitting a replacment will make the TT sound better so you would need to do a "new" comparison to see if the white one is making a difference.

I spoke to the guy (robert) who does these mods, and seemed a nice helpfull guy I was talking to him for about 25 minutes, and he explained the different mods available, he charges £40 to fit the mods whatever you buy I am intrested in the plinth upgrade with the sorbathane feet - £189, acrylic sub platter - £99, acrimat - £24 and the puka record weight - £49 but you could probably use the michell weight for a cheaper price, plus fitting - £40 Will have to wait till after xmas to fund this one He,s going to post me the hifi world 5 star reveiw It cost £18 to send each way, so it would be cheaper to drive there and wait 2 hours for them to do it, they are in chesterfield (inbetween sheffield and nottingham) and you could watch your TT getting modded in front of you. paddy
