The Z Century arrived at work on Friday but I was on leave until today so I didn't get to have a go until Lunchtime. It's a cracking little thing. This single blade 4 channel lark is great fun. I had it flying circuits around the spare office within 5 minutes. The only trouble is that because the control layout is different to the 3 channel heli's I have I have dinged it into the wall a few times already because I've used the wrong control stick when trying to get out of trouble. It's testament to the strength of this little heli that I've had by far my worst crashes with it and it's not even scuffed. I won't be posting a video of this one just yet I can tell you ;D Initial impressions are this will be great fun when I get the hang of it. It's so much faster that the 3 channel coaxials I've got. One thing I love about it is that it doesn't get sucked towards the walls when it's close to them unlike my smaller helis. They need quite a bit of control to get away from walls. Overall I reckon this is a great helicopter for £25 I'll post an update and some vids if and when I get the hang of it. Ian

Single Blades are a totally different thing to coaxials, Ian. They are inherently less stable and need much more control, although that one has stabilising with the flybar which should help. That's how the Blade MSR works.
They are a lot faster but one thing with single blades is that it becomes more possible to fly them outside. (In very little wind) They don't react to drafts like a coaxial.
Trouble is that one is an infa red so you can't go outside if the sun is out. It'll crash!!!
Very good value though at £24 if you compare it to the cost of the msr.
One thing I really like about the Blade helis is you can just swap out the batteries, so you're not tied to one flight and a charge up. I tend to use about 4 batteries and then go in and put them all on charge.
Or I take a few helis and a collection of 20 batteries (would you believe) and swap helis in order to let each one cool off between flights. I can fly all afternoon without a charge that way!!
I'm currently waiting for an MSR x which is a single rotor without a flybar. They come out in the UK in December and I'll compare it directly with the MSR which is my favourite little heli. Goes like a rocket and yet is really easy to control once you've learned its flight characteristics.
With 4 channel, you can do spectacular turns once you're flying it safely.
Try this (when you're secure)
Left rudder, left aileron. (Only slight) (And right rudder and aileron)
You'll find the heli will bank and turn left. It will also go really fast!!!
Also,
Left rudder + right aileron. (Or right rudder and left aileron)
You'll get a 'circular' turn which looks pretty good, without a big increase in speed.
So you have three types of turn -
Straight left/right turn with the rudder. (For slow turns) I tend to mix in a bit of backwards elevator for right turns and forwards elevator for left turns. That stops the heli wandering around rather than just turning.
Circular left/right turns. Looks really good and is easier to control than the next one, but a bit more difficult than the 'straight left/right turn.
Banked turns - spectacular but very fast. You need to be in control for this one. (or you WILL hit the wall at very fast speed!!)

LOL It was the Banked turns that had me crashing into the wall yesterday At very fast speeds I hasten to add Shows how tough the little Z Century is though. I will try to take things easier

Yes, banked turns are a killer because the heli will speed up and also tend to lose height as well!!
It's easier to practise that outsode although I go into backs and turns, but before the heli goes, I stop so at least I get a bit of practise in!!
I did that outside at great height when I first got the MSR and it came plummetting down so fast, I could barely see it. As luck would have it, I managed to turn it and get it on an even keel at the last minute, inches from the floor.
Had it hit the ground, I would have been getting another one!!!
