Picked up a refurbished Sansa Clip+ from ebay ( ITStor) as I was after a decent player for when I'm away, and also for a upcoming personal challenge. I'm very pleased with it. It sounds very nice, and with 12GB (at the moment), plenty of space for mp3's. The one thing that I'm very pleased with is that it conveys the music in a musical way, making me tap my feet and hands. This to me means that it's doing the job well, as I've listened to music on systems that although technically good, seem to strip the life out of the music. I was also surprised how small it is - just shorter than my thumb, and about 0.5cm wider on either side. Spot on for my needs.

Will, do you have a set of the Superlux HD661? Plug 'em in and enjoy, it's a synergy thang, made for each other

I often use the Clip and the Clip Zip. Really good players too. The only thing that I would like to have on them is a proper line out to get a good, clean signal into an amp.

I use the, sonically the same, Fuze. Bigger screen, better battery life and LO is possible (but have to make it yourself) but not nearly 2V level (0.7V) The function wheel isn't very practical when in a shirt pocket.
The later Fuze+ doesn't appear to be as good though.

There has been a lot said between the Fuze and Fuze+. I have only the latter so can't compare but I get on well with mine. My only gripe is the slow loading time, a bit painful. Once the smart lads at RockBox have the port for the Fuze+ stable I'll switch over.

Oh yes, I forgot about that. I have the largest memory card it can take 32 gig? (I think) and it is extremely slow after disconnecting from the computer. In fact, I put it away and leave it reading the card when I load stuff on.
In that respect, it's the slowest machine I have.
I wish Rockbox would do a 'Box' for the Ipods!!! I would love to lose Itunes. The 160 gig Ipod Classic is great from the dock into a good amp and there's plenty of room for large file sizes.

Hi Miguel. Thanks for the link. Can you drag and drop to the Classic with Rockbox and also .... do you need to reload all your music again after installing?
I know you have a posh Classic don't you - you've put a bigger disc drive in I think.
I've had mine for a long time now and it's a really good player. Battery is a bit better than all of the other ipods too, even with a drive going round. There's no excuse for poor battery life nowadays with lion batteries.

Hi Chris,
I don't have any hd661, but I do have some RG'ed HD681b's (full metal rings/Fran's filters and earpads) which I've not yet tried.
I bought some Aldi sports headphones today, similar to the neck band style you suggested. I'm very surprised how good they are with the sansa!

Ian, I use RockBox in an iRiver H120 and I love it. I have an old iPod 5.5 that originally had an 80 GB HD, I replaced it with a 240 GB HD.
