Yeah, don't forget the supposedly lower jitter with SSD as well as no moving parts. Actually, I still don't understand why the technical people is still talking of jitter affecting sound when it is already into ns and ps for jitter. 10^-9 or -12 seconds we are talking about. Much faster than any highend camera shutter speed. I have seen a report where it was claimed that random Jitter can cause low level wideband noise. Yeah, at ns and ps level to cause hearable low level wideband noise technically? I have no argument subjectively if due to other things that we are not aware of. Of course, I will still go after a SSD, if I can afford, to build the best VFM computer audio possible, due to jitter or unhearable jitter, as this is just too logical to ignore.

SSD is not necessarily better than HDD. Some SSDs are quite noisy electrically due their internal voltage inverters, especially where Supercaps are fitted. Supercaps are now being phased out in many new models due to the noise contribution, most likely due to charging reuirements.

Supercaps are now being phased out in many new models due to the noise contribution, most likely due to charging reuirements. Heh, heh, heh and they supposed to be solid state supercaps. So what caps are being used now to reduce the noise?
