Just got a pair of these from SuperFi.... currently £99 to replace the JBL Control 1 speakers in my "computer as source" rig. Well..... consider me blown away by these little puppies! The midrange is absolutely stunning (no other word for it) and they have only been playing for just over an hour. I feel these have got potential for some serious tweaking.... die cast chassis, Kevlar cone, curved and braced cabinet... all VERY good stuff and a steal @ £99 shipped! This Stereophile review seems prettty on the ball www.stereophile.com/budgetcomponents/1105wharfedale/index.htmlThe fit and finish is absolutely first class and the Walnut (vinyl) veneer looks like real wood.... I thought it WAS real wood until I read that review, absolutely amazing what they can do with vinyl these days. I never thought I'd be sitting listening to a pair of Wharfedale Diamonds, years ago I was a REAL speaker snob and unless they had a four figure price bracket I wouldn't even consider them.... what a damned FOOL, as nearfield monitors these little Diamonds (not so little by the way) are an open window to the music..... I will definitely be back with a full review once the cones have had a good battering...... will try to get some under the hood pics in the next few days. £99? RUN, don't walk, to SuperFi and pay the man.... worth every penny (and then some)!!

I have and still have these around. It will blow away ANY HPs on this planet. It must go with it's matching sub. Any cheap sale Wharfedale sub you found? I'm interested.

They went from sounding superb to very shouty all of a sudden.... I am putting this down to "bed in"..... they also sound a lot better (in my particular application) upside down,,,, brings the tweeter closer to ear level and definitely helps the midrange detail.
