I downloaded the new 1009 version while I uninstalled the 1008 I had running (with the 02 disconnected). Once DL was finished I installed and then plugged the 02 back. It was detected quickly and the drivers auto installing started giving me the "not found "error in the firmware driver (as it should) and detected the other two items were dealt with perfectly. So 0 glitches, bugs, problems for me. I can't see or hear any difference with the previous one though.

Perhaps your computer (latest spec with top draw components installed) is much more capable than mine and Johns at running the latest software Javier.
Mine is steam powered, but has never let me down and handles most of what is required from it with ease. I suppose i should invest in a new one, as i know technology has moved on a GREAT deal in the last 8yrs, i`m just loathed to part with such a reliable piece of kit and consign it to the scrap heap.

Oh no Mick, there is no need to scrape anything! I only ditch them when they break beyond repair, for example when the motherboard dies and its too old to find replacements. Even then all useful parts are kept and reused. I relegate old computers to less important uses like playing games for the kids, a music server that just needs storage and CPU or memory don't matter, etc. Even if you don't a use for a 2nd computer in the house there many non profit organizations that'll take it from your hands quite happily. In my company we always donate unneeded computers, printers, and anything they might want to such orgs.
Getting to the point, I don't think it is a matter of having a more powerful PC but a "cleaner" Windows. Over 8 years of use, many important areas of the O.S. accumulate garbage aplenty, like the registry, the windows\system32 folder, etc. that can (and usually do) create conflicts or hog resources.
There aren't many differences from 0727 and 1009, aside from HDCD capability I haven't been able to detect any. It sounds great and is very stable.

It looks like Musiland haven't still got the driver right because today they've publish yet another revision, 1013. musiland.com.cn/downloads/drivers/MlCyMon_2.0.1.0_build20111013.exeLuckily there is a change log this time (Google translated): 1, first to support Microsoft's upcoming operating system WIN8. 2, the improvement in the X64 platform, AMD chipset, 4G memory under the above, WDM channel and ASIO channel compatibility. 3, to improve the Monitor at 352.8kHz and 384kHz 03 US sampling rate playback performance. 4, the sampling rate of repair can not save the BUG . 5, open the Windows hidden 32Bit API interfaces, Monitor USB series in its entirety to support 32Bit sampling rate. 6, the new DMA playback mode, raise the sampling rate and a variety of playback software compatibility and stability. 7, the new DMA playback mode, reducing system latency as a result of distortion. Download: www.musiland.cn/downloads ... 0_build20111013.exe important Tips : 1, first remove the previous driver, restart the computer , then install the new drive. 2, the process of installing the driver, the best anti-virus software turned off, then open the installation is successful. Found with problems, please post, we will carefully as soon as possible to resolve . Monitor PCI series also test drive the new version will be released as soon as possible, please be patient about PCI users. Other series WIN8 drivers are tested, so stay tuned.

Glad I waited! And I going to wait even longer (in any case I don't have any 32-bit files, so won't lose any sleep over the new driver's capabilities in that area).

Even if you had some, the 02 - or the 03 for that matter - use 24bit DACs (02 -> BB PCM1793, 03-> BB PCM1796) so any thing larger would be either dithered down or truncated losing any "potential" advantage. 32bit only makes sense for digital volume control, 24bit is already unachivable in the analogue domain -> 144dB dynamic range.
Only intresting points for me are #6 and #7. I'll install this drivers tonight and see what happens.

I don't even know what DMA is, let alone if I need it (better not tell me, just in case I begin to feel I can't live without it!).

DMA = Direct Memory Access.
Musiland's driver uses the USB storage libraries instead of the audio ones. It is managed as if it was a hard drive and that is why it is advertised as "asynchronous" but it doesn't slave the PC to its internal clock, it uses "Bulk" transfer mode and not USB Audio Class 2.
Wait untill I try it and report back.

Just finished installing the latest 1013 drivers. I can't say anything about differences in SQ because ear memory is too short to survive the unistallation/installation process, to me it sounds just as F'ing great as ever. One thing that has changed and is easy to spot is this:

Mmmm, nice! Or is it just because it's different that I prefer it?
Decisions, decisions...
Think I'll wait for Mick to have a go before I try it (the dreadful waste of last Friday's uninstall/install shenanigans still looms large in my memory!)...

John, Mick also had problems with 1013 and had to go back to 2707, I'm lost as to what could be the cause. They work perfectly in my PC. Maybe they are designed with newer computers in mind.

I'm assuming this veritable flood of drivers is a result of there being issues with previous versions, at least with some versions of Windows?

Pleased 019 is working fine for you Javier, i just tried it, with no joy at all, in fact its just taken me 2hrs to re-install 727.
It seemed to have messed everything up on my computer, had to go into system tools, and restore my computer to yesterdays settings.
Shall not mess with these upgrades any more, to time consuming, there surely must be something drastically wrong, for a software upgrade to be released almost on a daily basis.
Mick.

I'm sorry about that Mick, it shouldn't be that way. I had no problems with any of the two latest versions.
Should you want some help I can remotely connect to your PC and try to find what is wrong with it.

Thanks, Mick, for taking one for the (UK, non-W7) team, and I'm sorry it didn't work out. I'll stick with 0727!

Just a thought.
It is not uncommon for a new driver to be released even if only one file has been changed; say a dll for the visual front end. I would suggest that you locate the driver file (.sys file in System 32/drivers) and check its properties.

Just taken the plunge and installed MlCyMon_2.1.0.0_build20111026.exe, given that Musiland haven't replaced it in a few days, as they have done with all the previous recent ones! At first I had the same issues as before (the 03 firmware driver installs, but not the two bus drivers for the 02), so thought I'd go back to 0727 using the info I'd posted here, then thought I'd try to see if any of those steps would enable me to use the latest version. I got it working, but whenever I restarted my PC, I got the error message below. After more shenanigans, with about 10 restarts, and a combination of some of the steps above and messing with device manager, I finally got it all working as it should. Nice interface, and it might even sound better, but that's probably a consequence of all the effort I've put into getting it working (and I'm not about to go back to 0727 to find out)! Attachments:

At last! well done John, I also think SQ is better than prevous versions but there is no way of comparing them because byt the time you uninstall one and reinstall the other ear memory would have run out. Don't forget to enable HDCD if you have any such encoded discs or files.
