Firstly, I will freely admit to being a tight git but the following s-h-1-t does get on my pip...
I was putting a Farnell order together, using the UK site for simplicity. Obviously I get to see the total proposed invoice amount including vat and postage.
I then paste the exact same order into Farnell Spain, hang on guv, that looks a little high. So, I do the exchange rate thing, still high, in fact an extra 14.5% higher for no reason (and that's not even taking into account the UK vat is 20% whilst Spanish iva is only 18%). Robbing, god damned, bar-stewards
I then tried another european country, I think it was Germany, same procedure and guess what, after the exchange rate virtually equall to the UK.
Peninsular-itis or just plain profiteering? Either a mixture or just the latter methinks.
Well, Farnell still get the order BUT via the UK, as I have a visitor coming out who's willing to receive and carry.
you can take the pom outa the UK, but you can't take the whinge outa the pom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
