Here's what I posted with my vote:
"Neil Sedaka is not in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame? I grew up right down the street from Alan Freed, and Neil was very important to us. Do the right thing, please."

Sorry, still not a fan after more than a year. But don't feel strange if I live next to him and voted for him.

Send Neil Sedaka to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame! Rock & Roll?? More like bland grand-dad pop. Only slightly more exciting than Perry Comzzzzzz - Oops sorry, fell asleep there. Jeff

The little teen girlies swooned after Neil just like Elvis and the Beatles. So if you wanted to meet girls then you pretend to think he was the greatest and then you're in luck. I reviewed his hits (quite a few!) on Amazon, but found only one track listenable. Sorry Neil - the old tunes just don't wear well in the 21st century. But I can imagine being 14 years old and actually singing some of those. On another note, my pal Rodney B. as "Rodney on the ROQ" finally got a star on H'wood Blvd. He really was a star, even though he didn't play himself. He introduced The Germs, and that's the stuff great legends are made of.

There were a couple of programmes last night on BBC 4 that may be of interest to Neil Sedaka fans. Both will be available on the BBC iPlayer. One appears to be a new documentary.
NEIL SEDAKA: KING OF SONG TO AIR ON BBC FOUR ON FEBRUARY 14, 2014 AT 9:00PM
Neil Sedaka: King of Song” will be making its World Premiere on BBCFour on February 14, 2014 at 9:00pm. This documentary tells the story of Neil’s life and career, in which he had two distinct periods of success. Between 1958 and 1963 he sold over 25 million records, but then his career nose-dived after the Beatles and the British Invasion hit the USA. Leaving his homeland, he found success in the UK in the early 1970s and relaunched his career before returning to the US and achieving new stardom with songs like Solitaire and Laughter in the Rain. Featuring interviews with David Foster, Phil Cody, Anthony DeCurtis, Rich Podolsky and others!

I have several Neil Sedaka songs on my music player/phone. Between the mid 1960's and the advent of MP3's I didn't have access to his music, lacking the urge to buy an LP and tape it. But today it's so easy to download the odds and ends, that keeping a few of his songs at hand is very convenient.

I watched that last night Nigel, not two hours wasted. He caters for a certain market and is definitely king of his trade in that market....... In fact, he was (and is) the king of MOTR "clap along like a seal" softcore rock.
A true "great" and I still feel he should be entered into the rock and roll home of fame.
