Just curious. How will this manual box sound quality compare to an electronic switching box like those with a remote? It will be more convenient to compare with a remote operated electronic switching box, right?

It's for headphones so you can sit close to the box and operate the switch.. If it were for speakers it would be another matter. The contacts of real switches will always have (very) much lower resistances then electronic switches (if they have to switch low level AC signals)
It's just a simple box I build for myself. It's not for sale, but since I have finished playing with it those who want to know how their amps really compare under equal conditions they can loan it for a while.
If you want to do it blind... just ask someone eles to flip the switch or put Darth Vaders helmet on. Your headphone must be able to fit in there to.
