I listened to the LCD2 at last (a rev2) with a m2tech young/palmer with a burson soloist ... and found them underwhelming.
First, the completely linear bass sounds different than I thought (as in worse) but what disappointed me was a slight harshness in the upper midrange and a general lack of resolution and refinement.
I have a HD250 linear II for when I want to hear the music as it is and a Grado HF2 for when I want to head-bang a little. I mainly use the HD250.
Too bad I'm crap at modding because the HD250 with a little more mids and a little calmer upper highs and a little tighter bass would be the perfect headphone. I got two of them to try and mod one and have the other one to compare but I don't think I can do it, all the things I've tried just degraded the sound.

No, but the X-Can V2 can drive other planars like the HE6 and HE500 very nicely. how about the x-can v1?
