Havent cooked anyhting special anough to photograph lately.... but have had some good harvests from the garden.
The new polly-tunnel has done very well. The Sungold tomatoes have been stunning and there are still some left to pick. I put in three more plants later in the season to see how long they will crop for; until the daylight hours get too short I suppose. The Aubergines failed though. Just two very small fruit - I think I should have hand-pollinated the flowers maybe. Sweet (bell) peppers did well - picked six and one still to turn red. Courgettes not a success - better off outside I think. Chillis have been great - the plant I had indoors all last year has carried on cropping. A good handful of plump red chilis now ready for drying.
Outside the red onions were not too bad, and the outdoor tomatoes (again Sungold) have produced lots of fruit. The runner beans have been fabulous too - so sweet, so tender, and a couple of weeks-worth still to go.
Made ratatouille on the day before yesterday with home-grown toms, peppers and onions. I had to buy the garlic, aubergines and courgettes. So a 50% home-made ratatouille? Not bad. Six large portions now in the freezer.
Shropshire beginning to look and feel very autumnal now - beautiful it is though.
Regards,
Derek

My wife is in charge of our produce, I only look after the trees (avacado, lemon, orange, wild tamarind, vines of Moscatel, Romera and Raisin, plus the non edible firs, mamosa and others).
Done well = all the trees/vines, golden plum, chilis, lemon grass, basil, red basil, holy basil, mint. Not to mention the piggin' weeds!
Not well = krachai, galangal, kaffir lime sapling.
