Thanks Mike. It was annoying the hell out of me to see my own words being used to create links to advertisements that had no relevance

Is there a BoM for the Ripple eater? As I have some boards left,The links are not working... Edit:nevermind i found it... Don't forget that if you use the JLH at +5V or +3.3V, that better results will be obtained by replacing the 10K resistor with a J506 1.4mA Current Regulating Diode. When not using the Current Limiter section , due to being used immediately after a 78XX or LM317T voltage regulator which does the current limiting at switch on , you can use 2 parallel 4,700uF capacitors for a further improvement. One is best as a low ESR type and the other a normal electro of the same value. Feel free to PM me for any further questions.
Alex

Afternoon All, It seems there is a resurgence in interest in the John Linsley Hood Ripple Eater. The JLHRE. (This is for Google to find!). I have had a few requests to view the Manual V1.1 on my Drive. Here is the link to version 3.0.1, which is free to download for anyone with a link. drive.google.com/open?id=0B22iibGC4qn1NkV2MXJNQkFab3MMike, please feel free to host the manual here if you wish. Might make the wait that people are currently having while I send them the link manually a little shorter! Best wishes to all.

Great to see there is still activity here! Several years ago I bought a set of boards and set them aside. Now I want to build a headphone amp that has poor PSRR so the JLHRE could be part of the circuit that gets the performance needed for the circuit. I will read up so I have a good understanding for implementation.

Great! Thanks, Mike.
Hope you’re well. And everyone else.
If you could PM me the best email address, I’ll send the various iterations over. I think it would be nice to see how the project developed.
Cheers
Jon

Hi Tank, It’s all on here, everything you need to know about the RE together with bits on this site.it should give you the lot users.tpg.com.au/gerskine/greg/I was looking for some boards but looks like I’ll have to use Greg’s diagram to get some printed. I thinks (from long ago) there were some boards on dirty pcbs but I can’t find the link sorry. Hope that helps Martin

HELP PLEASE So it appears that the pcb on Greg’s website is a jpg which is not suitable to give to any pcb makers. Has anyone got a converted file I can use? Will or Jon do you still have the files from your boards? OR Has anyone got any spare ripple rated boards please? I’d be willing to sort out a GB or pass on any extra pcbs I have surplus from my order at cost. If anyone is interested

Hi Mike , Well actually the double ones that we used in the AKHA on here a few years ago but a few of those will do as I can do a pos and neg version. Yes they be fine This is the one from Greg’s website users.tpg.com.au/gerskine/greg/ (It’s under power supplies / shunt regs strangely enough) But it’s pdf and I can’t get a reasonable priced site to accept pdf to make the boards Thanks Mike PS hope you on the men’s after your fall Martin

I've just taken a photo but light is failing here so can get a much better photo tomorrow if you need one. I only have one of the "single" Ripple eaters (which I would like to keep) but the 2 x GE20120421 (2oz copper) shunt regulators are yours for the taking mate If you're happy to cover the postage cost then they are free to a good home Martin, I know you'll make good use of them Fully recovered from the "involuntary" Winter Olympics "freestyle" maneuver that saw me hit the deck like Eddie the Eagle going backwards down a ski slope...... it wasn't pretty Three broken ribs, a good few weeks of discomfort, I will never again wear a pair of slippers when emptying the bin, a good message that ice can be lethal! Hope all is good with you Martin. All the best, Mike.

BTW.... the ONLY reason I want to keep hold of the single Ripple Eater is the fact that is has "Rock Grotto" printed on it. Means a lot to me, a reminder of just what a fantastic joint this once was Mike.

That’s the ones Mike. Thanks very much I’ll have the two please. By all means keep the single one, good memories. I’ve pm’d you with my address and email. If you send me your sort code and account t I’ll transfer £3 or £4 or whatever the pony express charges now from the outer wildernesses of the empire It’ll be cheaper than PayPal unless of course you want PP Glad to hear you on the mend, surprised there was no lucozade involved in the recovery, I was always put to bed and given lucozade and occasionally Enos whatever the illness or injury. Ye I’m fine had my first dose of micro chips a few weeks ago and I must say the nurse did not look at all lizard like All the best Martin

Hi Mike Gladly make a contribution no probs at all. If let me know the postage for those PCBs I’ll add it to the payment for you. Probably better than doing an individual payment. It seems the plague has other side effects other than the illness. After all this forum has been a help over the years and it would be a shame to loose its reference posts. Thanks

Thanks Hi Martin, I'm going to the post office on Friday to ship a few packages, I will pop your jiffy bag into the post then. Very busy ATM mate and not doing my "daily" run into town...... I do two postal runs at the moment, Monday and Friday. Postage will be nominal, around £1.50, don't worry about it. All the best, Mike.
