I e-mailed Jason last July (2010) and he said he'd send a few samples.... never heard from him again. If he wants us to review his stuff then he can get in touch with me. Do you actually READ the posts in threads you reply to Colt? Flip back over to page ONE and you'll see that I have already been in touch with Jason over a YEAR ago. Cheers Mike, I e-mailed Jason, as I began this thread, too, at the first mail, he answered. Later, as I remember him, I got no answer.

Don't worry, Miguel will get to the bottom of the matter. He's very good with this kind of schiit.
I hope it's not crapppy.

Yup, same here Fritz.... quite active on the e-mail front (at first) and then nothing.

Mike, IIRC Jason from Schiit has promised you a review sample months ago. And IIRC you have never received anything from them (while head-fi had review samples at a very early stage). I wonder if they have not sent you the samples because they already knew that the amps make troubles. I wrote the above post a few days back in the "deformed headphones" thread. IMVHO, SCHIIT is not interested in a serious review. I speak only for me, but I will not buy any SCHIIT. There are plenty of better and cheaper alternatives around. If someone really wants a US made amp, then I'd suggest to buy a Project Sunrise from Jeremy.

I'm not trying to slander Schiit here. But I've read on other forums, that older Schiit amps are dangerous. They did not have proper relays in place so their amps on both Asgard and Lyr have massive DC current output that can destroy your headphones. AKG has stated even .25 of DC voltage can destroy their headphones and only one time needed. Asgard and Lyr have 2V DC current when shut off. I've read that Schiit has fixed this now, but if you have an older model or previous one, contact Schiit. They will fix it for you. Here is youtube proof of Schiit amps destroying headphone drivers without the relay: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCZ-AJQOiDgSomeone with an Ultrasone Edition 8 had his destroyed. So just check to make sure your Schiit amp is safe. If it isn't, contact Schiit and they will fix it.

What you have just posted here is old news. Most members involved in this thread are well aware of the problems mentioned earlier in the thread.
Massive DC current ? How many MILLIAMPS ?
The terminology you used is not correct. 2V into what load resistance? As stated in a previous reply to you, MOST well designed amplifiers have a series output resistor fitted. There is no denying that these amplifiers had short term voltage transients at switch off, and this should not have happened. However you appear to be quoting what you have read in some other forum without perhaps fully understanding what was said. (assuming they gave full and complete details of the DC offset problem on switchoff) .

Just shows you.... There's good SCHIIT out there and bad SCHIIT too. and if you don't understand you can end up in the SCHIIT
so Alex couldn't resist
