Yes indeed I know myself as well as many members here and elsewhere have been through an emotional roller-coaster and you Susan have taken the brunt of it, please accept my condolences.

Hello Susan,
As a reasonably new member to this Forum, i did not know Rick as well as some of the long standing members here , however i always read his posts with interest, and marvelled at his immense knowledge of all things electronic, and his no nonsense and straight forward approach to the subject, he will be sadly missed by me and all the other members, but NEVER forgotten.
Take care, regards Mick.

Hi Susan,
We will all miss Rick, with his great wit and knowledge a great deal. A live wire if ever there was one.
The strange thing is, although not many of us have met, on forums like these, you really get to know one side of each other. Rick had become close friends with so many people via these forums so his illness was a great blow to us all.
Best wishes to you all.

Hi Susan,
You can tell how much Rick was respected, by the posts that people have made. We will miss him.
Take care,
Will

Dear Susan and family, This may seem a strange little community, being world wide and virtual. But it's as strong as any group of friends were. We all accepted and respected Rick for all his gifts and faults. I will miss him, he left an indelible impression on so many of this community. Love David

Hi Susan, This is a very upsetting time in your life but there is one consolation and that is Rick is not suffering anymore, He is now at peace. Of course you will miss him terribly, as we all will, and it will take a very long time to come to terms with your loss but knowing that he is now in a peaceful place will help a little. I am terrible at times like this, lost for words, and find the death of a loved one very hard to cope with. I usually go into "denial" and try to blot things out.... not so with Rick, it will be impossible to forget him..... he's everywhere here and, I know this may sound crazy, but just reading through some of his old posts I get the feeling that he is still here, and, in a way, he is. He has written thousands of posts here over the years and his presence remains well and truly alive in this little corner of the world wide web. He was a good friend to all of us, always helpful, always funny, sometimes argumentative, very thought provoking and just.... "Rick"..... he sure was an original and didn't pull any punches.... he said it as it was.... I wish there were more people like Rick in the world, it would be a better place.... you knew what you were getting with Rick and you knew you were getting it straight without any added BS. I don't know if you're aware but Rick's avatar is "Marvin The Martian" : Whenever I see that little guy I immediately think of Rick Just as I am Eric (the yellow bear) Marvin makes Rick instantly recognisable..... I don't even know what the "real" Marvin does, I always associate him exclusively with Rick Susan, I know you don't like computers but if you ever feel you would like to read some of Rick's posts (writings) then there is plenty here for you to look through. You can go into his profile and select, say, 200 of his most recent posts or you can do a forum search.... Rick has over 4500 posts here and all of them can be found if you trawl through the forums..... I don't know, just thought it may be of comfort to you. Keep strong Susan, Your Rick has been taken away from you but he'll be up there preparing the ground for when you both meet again some day If I know Rick he'll be up there, as large as life, setting the joint straight as we speak It was an honour knowing Rick, he made my life a better place and, I too, hope to shake his hand one of these days when we all meet up on the Dark Side Of The Moon. Love and Best Wishes, Mike.
