Just came across this thread while looking for something else. Standard bicycle inner tubes are made of butyl rubber. You can use puncture repair adhesive to glue it, or something similar like evo-stik contact adhesive should also work.

try this: www.mediafire.com/?0l6powqas8sywe3highly experimental. based on EQ settings determined by Claus. Designed it once for Claus but he said he didn't need it anymore after break-in. Try it with a multiband equaliser first (many audioprograms on a PC have one) to see if the effect is as desired (at least 20 band EQ) pull down a slider close to 14 KHz to around -8 to -9 dB It should remove an over-shimmery edge on cymbals e.t.c.

I just bought HD660 and I was wondering how difficult of an operation is re-cabling?
The coiled stock cable is awful: too stiff and short. It tends to drag my FiiO E10 dac/amp off my desk if I lean back on my chair.
As a new cable I could cannibalize the cord from my pair of broken down Philips SHB805. It seems having a decent enough cable with screw-on 3.5mm+6.3mm converter. It probably is dual core cable with two wires and ground. Haven't picked it apart yet so no confirmation on this.
How should I solder the new cable to HD660? Any tips or better yet pictures of operation? I have done some soldering but never on headphones so what should I be expecting?
I might do the filter wool and blu tak mods while I'm opening the headphones anyway. All ready I have replaced stock pads and band with Beyer parts.
Any insight on modding HD660 is appreciated.
