Hows the HLLY DMK-IV sounding Miguel?
Do you know what DAC chip it uses? I had a look on their site but didn't notice it mentioned in the technical specs.
Also what is the purpose of the little square beside the volume knob, is it an IR receiver for remote control?

Still burning in, it uses the Crystal Semiconductor CS4396. Yes the little square if the IR receiver.

...it uses the Crystal Semiconductor CS4396... Pity. I've read somewhere they have a PCM1704 based DAC, and I thought this is it for a second... Nevermind. Looking forward for your impressions of this combo Miguel.

It sounds really good, now I have read that it is worth to change the two AD797 for AD797BR as well as changing the OPA2134 to LM4562. However these are all surface mounted and I am not going to attempt it after my last soldering screw-up!

Oh, 'cmon Mike... We all know Miguel fancies tubes, but he has no prejudices about WHAT produces good sound. Even if it is chip SS.

You are still quite young, and imagine how much better those Miami beach babes would look too ! Regards Alex
