Just heard on the news that TDC, the biggest danish telephone company, are going to charge people that send in those "help Thaiti sms". They say it is the cost for running the service, but they charge 3% thats not right, if someone donates a shitload of cash their smsprices would be through the roof and I doubt it is that expensive.. I can get free sms for a month fo 20$ (or less) so that is what unlimited sms is costing the company pr month, they could substract that amount from the total, that would be fair , seeing that one of the big companies not even want to spend 20 buck to help people in need and feel they need to get their service paid for, maybe even make money on those in need, it makes me sick..

If there is one thing that will get me riled it's being ripped off on postal costs.
I was delighted to find exactly what I was looking for re. cotton sleeving in Os from Soundlabs - 5m at just over A$18.
Now 2mm x 5m cotton sleeving has got to be less than 1/2 oz plus packaging - a Jiffy bag then comes the postal charges @ A$15/air mail or A$10 seamail or courier @a$105 - yea right, like I need it yesterday.
Seriously thinking of blanking the deal.
Clausdk - watch the vultures descend on those poor sods in Haiti - your Danish phone company will look like saints very soon.
So here's a nice legal scam - find a small light product that people want. Sell for close to cost and hammer the poor punter on P&P. Say real, postage costs - jiffy bag +£1 post - then charge £4-5 for postage. Hump 200 punters per week and your on a nice little earner - and all totally legal.

Yes, postal charges really piss me off too.... I spent £2,700 last year on "postage".... bloody extortionate. When I ship anything it is the actual "postage cost" I charge, I don't include the packaging material onto the price or it would simply put people off.... These guys who charge £5 for a jiffy bag and a first class stamp are just bandits IMO.

It is happening a lot on eBay, this because they do not pay fees to eBay on the S&H. Plus if the customer returns the item they are not refunded for the S&H. Pure profits, and as stated above perfectly legal.

Mick, I've looked at what some on American Ebay expect foreigners to pay for postage - no way. As to insurance - I've only ever had one no-show and that was for a s/hand CD from Germany - famous last words but Mike is still waiting for his parcel from me
