How to replace the valves in X-CanV8P?

I have just been looking at the guide for replacing the valves in the X-Can V2 and was wondering if there is a similar guide for the V8P.

Same thing..... undo ALL the screws, pull the PCB out (from the front) and roll in a pair of your favourite valves

Just pull the valves out whilst gently "rolling" them.... same when you fit the new ones in.... kinda rock them into position, don't bear down and shove them in with all your weight

Thanks for the link those images will be useful when comparing what changes Musical Fidelity make during their 'tune-up' service.

Please do let us know what changes they make and what brand of capacitors they use They have pretty much copied my long standing (ie: I have been doing this for YEARS) mods to the letter but I very much doubt they are employing Panasonic FC / FM low ESR caps and more likely some cheap alternatives..... it will be interesting to actually "see" the MF fine tuning mods, a few people have told me about them (Jamicon low ESR caps) and, from what I have heard, MF use the cheapest possible parts at their disposal..... oh well, at least you get a "certificate" signed by Anthony

I would have much preferred to have had the mods carried out by your good self even without a signed certificate! ;D

As you have mentioned in another thread working on the V8P has been made more difficult, that is the reason it will be going to Musical Fidelity.
