I have a set of these, which for the money are highly recommended for cheap PC speakers .. and now with the reduction in price anyone looking for PC speakers to sit on the desktop and look good also ... I reckon you can't go far wrong at that price tinyurl.com/y85hrdd Relatievly detailed, nice balance, great image, and reaosnable punch and volume for the size. Bass ain't bad either in that psuedo midbass prentending to be real bass kinda way!

If I had a desktop PC system I'd grab a pair of these. They look excellent vfm Sol. Unfortunately I only have a laptop at home these days.

My idea of a "PC" speaker is actually a true studio monitor driven by a real amp though currently I have a set of Optimus Pro LX-4's with the "Black Dahlia" mods www.blackdahlia.com/tipindex/Tip__3/tip__3.htmlNot shielded, falls of below 80hz or so and will not play at high SPL's but the diminutive 4" Kevlar mid-woofer and monopole Lineaum tweeter make music in the band where it counts-the middle driven by a Push-Pull EL84 amp [image]http://www.tube-amps.net/images/EL84_PP_01/EL84_Schematic.jpg[/image] is a match made in audio heaven I knew PP EL84 was the way to go with these puppies when WAY back when I first made the speaker purchase (1999 ?) and I mated them with my then H.H.Scott 299C integrated then hooked up to the line out of the sound card of my "crap sounding" IBM desktop and using 128kbps MP3s played on the first WinAmp I actually had MUSIC flowing using the computer as source for the very first time.Tossing in a portable CD player to the desktop and my "computer" system was all i thought it could ever be............then. Now ? Codecs are better, sound cards are better and we have USB Audio but still the above amp/speaker combo whips butt so is a keeper even though I am silly enough to try other things from time to time
