Yep! On all counts. After your vol con recommendation I found that too and went for it.

Hi Chris This tweaked photo of the one you said is like Andrew's , suggests that the amplification area may be fairly similar to the SC (Jaycar) HA. Kind Regards Alex Attachments:

As a way to lower the output level. Hi Miguel A buffer has UNITY gain, so bypassing it will not lower the level, only result in reduced capability when driving low impedance headphones. Alex I have a MiniBox-ES portable amp that uses one OP627 plus 3 BUF634 per channel. I was thinking of removing one BUF634 in each channel to reduce the gain. Would that mean it is not worth doing it? head-direct.com/Products/?act=detail&id=15

5 months later exactly and I figured I'd just give an update on this amp, everything seems to be working great, no degradation of any sort though I AM still experiencing some occasional noise issues (yet to determine whether its from the USB itsself or the power supply) and the volume knob is a bit scratchy.
Nothing new to report, if all of the models (Rev. 1, 2011 and MKII) offer similar performance then I can reaffirm that these amps offer excellent performance per dollar.
Also I've yet to modify anything, I may crack this unit open at some point and try to get the volume control a bit better, but other than that its been fine for me.

Kind Regards Alex Alex, if I understand right, the HA stage looks like similar to my WNA MKII too. Which types are the OPA's and BJT's? The 5pin Power OP looks like a rail splitter. Have you a schema about?
