Wilbur AU$31 is the most I have ever spent for a capacitor. I recently installed 2 x 4.7uF Auricap capacitors (AU$31 each!) in the input of my Class A 15W/Ch amplifier. After a couple of days , they now sound as close to NO capacitor as I have heard. BTW, some polyprops can give a degree of holographic illusion, but bypass them, and you will find that it may be a false illusion. A good amplifier can sound holographic on good material without such tricks. Alex

Haven't you seen the price of snake oil these days Synthetic snake oil of course - the product is "without question a green product" - no real snakes were harmed during its manufacture lol

allenf At those kind of prices in the link, you would need to have more money than sense. Your system would need to be of extremely high resolution to hear any worthwhile difference between an Auricap and one of those exotic beasts. For that kind of money, in amplifiers at least, it would be better to design out the need for coupling capacitors if you wanted the very best. With crossover networks in speaker systems, the need for quality capacitors in high end speakers is still there, but most people would be deluding themselves if they thought that they could hear an improvement over other better quality audiophile grade capacitors.

At that end of the market I would be after an active crossover/multiple-amp for my speaker rig, which shifts the ringing problem away from driver back-emf induced (inductive and capacitive) to component selection within the active crossover.
And I have no problem as such with people who listen with their eyes or their money - after all a placebo effect is a real effect to the person experiencing it, and it is their money... but several thousand for a capacitor..!

After spending a bucket load on these non synthetic oil based capacitors you may need to consider "Quantum Purifiers" yes these babies manage to act on the signal at the quantum level ensuring that only the signal part of the electron flow gets into your system mmmmm be warned you gotta have deep wallets to appreciate the difference these can make to the signal flow especially for digital interconnects. www.bybeeconnection.com/index.aspof course all this after the sound has been converted to digital and recorded, post, produced, processed, encoded, re sampled and sold to you on CD it must make all the difference in the world

I couldn't help noticing the address of PWB is in Leeds, England.
I also couldn't help noticing a thing called PWB Silver Rainbow Foil.
These two things rang a little bell in the back of my mind: Leeds is where Sydney Beaumont is. Sydney Beaumont are stockists of all kinds of self adhesive decal materials. I should know, I used to screen print labels as part of my earlier 1980's career making electronic sub-assemblies. There is actually a "sticker" material called rainbow film, which is plastic I believe, and looks very much like a foil - it is silver and changes colour as you move around as it catches the light at different angles. I'm not sure how much it is a sheet, but know it won't be too expensive because screen printers are generally poor. If my memory serves me well, the sheet size was 1000 x 700 mm.
I guess if somebody wanted to clone rainbow foil it wouldn't be all that difficult, and possibly highly profitable? ;D

I'm sure they'll oblige. Like I said I've no idea how much it is but it's used to print all kinds of advertising decals and "evergreens", which are "give-aways" so it shouldn't break the bank. I guess you could ask if a chap called Peter buys it while you're on the phone

"And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth." (Gen 9:12-16)? Or did you mean something dirty? ;D

Oh I see Right ;D Well..... in the UK (and the rest of the world as far as I know) the Rainbow is a curved thing that appears in the sky....... NOT a pot of brown ! Perhaps you need a Poo Jumpers cull in the U.S.A. ? At the very, least, some good old fashioned electric shock aversion therapy ! O.K. VERY Politically incorrect, but I am pissed off at these groups for pinching our language, and BENDING it to suit their own needs. For heavens sake, I wasn't even able to feel happy and gay on Xmas day ! (without bending over !) SandyK

Yes, the rainbow flag of gay pride is everywhere, the pic below is of a 1.25 mile long flag in a Key West Gay Demonstration a while back. Were you hovering above in the rainbow helicopter when you took that photo Miguel?

If I even contemplated such an act it is my wish someone with better sense busts me upside the head with a pool cue and if that doesn't bring me back to my senses ties my hands to my ankles behind my back with duct tape so i can't seal the deal ;D would be just as effective for one to beat themselves about the head and shoulder area then before the pain fades away take a listen then proclaim everything sounds BETTER when your head is swollen because it eliminates early room reflections ;D just another man's opinion such as it is-m more,no less
