went to this place www.rockby.com.au today, bought myself two U1 19" rack case it's on special atm, only $25 aud each. it's not stated in their website it's on special it's exactly the same as the one from altronics www.altronics.com.au/index.asp?area=item&id=H5011the cardbroad box has altronic label on it. also bought some big 10cmx25cm heatsink for $5.9 aud, it's also on special i did not realized i live only 10 min drive from this shop until now lol i have a look around the shop, the price of most stocks seem to be much lower then general retail store such as jaycar, dicksmith, altronics. for example, desolder pump only cost less $6, but will be more then $10 in other store. talked to the man in the shop, he said they mostly do supply for trader, and did a bit of retail. that could be the reason why their price are lower and relatively unknow to the general public. i am rapt to found a shop that's so close to my place, now i know where to go next time i need some part for diy project

minivan Before you decide to make a project in the rack case, it would be wise to check the height. Altronics were recently selling a batch of 1U rack cases cheaply due to the manufacturer making a mistake with the internal height. 30VA toroidals etc. may be a tight fit. BTW, as a Rockby customer I receive an email link with their weekend specials. Some of the specials are excellent value. SandyK

For access to the Mouser catalogue without paying the high shipping costs have a look at (at the moment free shipping for orders greater than AU$120) www.activecomponents.com/Make sure you click on the Aus flag for Aus prices, it seems to default to the NZ price list.
