I've never heard the Kinks album you mention but it's regarded as something of a classic. Quintessentially English, there was a good article in a hi-fi mag regarding the record not so long back.
UFO double live? With 'Rock Bottom'? Well, it sounded ok when I was in my teens but wouldn't Rush to hear it again.
Who's Next is a brilliant record, no duff tracks on that one. Play that one loud, Scott. In fact, I just give that one a spin myself today.

Back online again after a few months walkabout and listening to some new tunes again Husker Du New day rising Tangerene Dream Alpha Centuri...loved this one after a couple of redwines about 2am Hacienda Club 3 CDs....remembering my time as a nipper in Manchester mid to late 80s(i also read at the same time gang war from peter welsh..a great look into the manchester gang/drug scene in the 70s to early 90s) John Digweed Renaissance 1.....great eyeopener after spending most of the last couple of years listening to punk/rock...this progressive house music is a great way to listen to the flow and forget LISTENING too hard(although the greatful dead live is also upthere for this as well)
I also found a great link if you like any modern dj mixes of dance music(freshlymixed.com) Hope everyone is well and spending some of thier hard earned pennies on good music!!
PS Karlheinz Stockhausen lives locally near Cologne and popped his clogs a couple of months ago and got some great writeups in the local press...seems to have been massivly infulential ...but not many people have owned up to actually likin his music!!!

Eat Static - anything by them - psy industrail ufo stuff. Lots of 60s voice overs. The Orb - psy trance stuff .. not particulalry drum driven rythmns Future Sound of London - industrial, and very indiviudal Shpongle - psy trance meets asian, dub, raggae, and world music - awesome stuff Younger Brother (Flock of Beeps) - powerful dymanic - from the same stable as Shpongle. All electronic ... not necessarily compartmentalise dinto any category .. but incorprate dub, techno, drum abnd bass, and psy trance samples.

Try Unkles first Album Psyence Fiction for DJ Shadow and MoWax in a dark mood.
If you like Drum and Bass check out Pendulum have heard a few tracks on the radio and they sound on some tracks like metal meets drum and bass.
Not sure where some of the labels start and end these days as I get older, but if you are into some of the trip/downbeat stuff check out some of the Nightmares on Wax stuff such as Car boot soul.
