Anyone gonna go for them? I'm not sure about that nasty blue foam, but they look fantastic otherwise, lol!
They do seem a little pricey on Buy-It-Now given that the original Jecklin Float 2 looks to have been retailing at £99 and the current Ergo Model 1 are £149.

Always wondered why such a good sounding earspeaker had to look so bad and like with the AKG K1000 my conclusion is no reason at all.Someone needs to do the deed one of these years and re-tool the earcups/headband so the essence of the functionality remains but those having the guts to wear them in front of others need not feel like a total idiot ! There is no valid reason I can think of for either can to look like crap other than spite. Some kind of twisted "yeah these will sound good but the penalty is you will be laughed out of town once you are discovered actully hving them on your head in full view of others so THINK carefully on if you really want to go there and if your ego can stand the hit " from the designer while he/she secretly has a custom pair at home that are high fashion statements the envy of all who see them in person

on a stand maybe well if I am ever single again remind me not to double date with you in a home setting that involves headphones. After a good sense of humor and a confident attitude looks are very important to the fairer sex (and I don't mean sheep either mikamundo ! ;D ) yeah but where is it written that form has to follow function to an extreme level as to look like someone whipped them out from the basement workshop ? Where is this "sounds good gotta look like shit, sorry" rule ? my first exposure was back in the seventies from adverts in Audio Magazine (defunct) and my first thought was "cool ! I like the uniqueness" until i got to see a pair in the flesh WTF ! yeah the sound was truly nice (Electrostat model) and yes they were no doubt comfy but NO WAY were they going home with me.I did at the time have a certain image of cool to uphold and those were definately not cool in any crowd I was familiar with, even the stoners would not wear them then ! Of course this was "pre" Headwize/Headroom/Head-fi before we knew looking like an idiot was OK as long as the sonics were good

Did someone say maybe they look good on a stand? www.thismanwillkillyou.com/bunf/headfi/jecklinstand/DSC00559.JPGGiven that they can go for near £80 with the original foams crumbling to hell and how rare they are, I thought the pricing was alright. The Ergo 1 is supposed to sound Aids too. Although I must admit that the Ergo Amp 1 is on my shopping list, im very curious to hear it, and the Ergo AMT too. Theres also a discount availible if youre a head-fi member. If they dont sell it gives me an excuse to keep them though! Then my fuglyness will remain strong.

according to "Head-Fi" I am and likely still have a top 5 post count there but I banned myself for life soooo..... ;D Not out of line at all. That "crumbly foam" is a major beef with older cans.Once the foam gets brittle there is no saving it Cool.Really wasn't trying to crap on the headphones themselves as such but have a go at Mike who I like to needle a bit on his taste. Not musical taste or SQ taste which are both top notch but I swear the guy must have gone to Fugly Tech and received a Masters Degree looking at a few of his past creations kiddin' mike and I will now refrain from further thread crapping, sorry man, won't happen again hopefully....

Now I feel bad. I didn't realise that the auction was actually being run by one of our nearest and dearest members - I thought you'd just chanced across them.
Sorry about the rather harsh comments Duggeh.

A Cyberman checks his spare head. I like the write-up and think you're very brave to include a picture of yourself wearing what must be one of the least flattering items of audio equipment ever created, with the possible exception of the iPod. ;D

Now if Mike buys these, and if the iPod could actually drive a pair of earspeakers, he could make the ultimate fashion statement next time he washes his car!
I suppose he could run the iPod through the car stereo and use its speaker outputs to drive the headphones at the cost of reducing his operational radius...
