With all that gear you could do with an extra 4 pairs of ears !
I forgot my Rega P25 ! And all the van den hul interconnects..............And of course my HD-600's and a pair of HD-470's ( but they were only £1 from a boot fair).................actually pound for pound they are the best value HiFi I own !
And then there is my MF X-plora..........a great tuner but, shows up how shitty FM broadcasts really are....
I did own a V1 X-cans,which of course I modded, then sold ! ( but kept those russian valves that cost me a packet!)..................The V2 is up for modding ...........that's when RS have sorted themselves out with FM's.........

X-Can V3 (6H23N-EB valves, 3300uF Panasonic FCs in the PSU, and Elna RSHs in the filter, non-polars on the input, I am also still waiting on my Panasonic FMs for the rest of the PSU and some non-polars for the output).
Sennheiser HD-600 and HD-280 Pro (nice idea, terrible design).
iPod 15GB 3G (with dock). I only use lossless codecs now. None of that MP3 crap.
Cambridge Audio Pacific 3.5mm-2xRCA for connecting the iPod dock directly to the X-Can
Behringer HA4600 Pro rackmounted 4-channel studio reference headphone amp.
PowerMac G4 (rackmounted) with an M-Audio Firewire 410 interface.
Yamaha 5.1 receiver (can't remember the model, but it was cheap)
Eltax Liberty 3+, Liberty Centre and HR-2 Bipolar surrounds.
QED Silver Anniversary speaker cable (biwire on the 3+s).
Various bass guitars into Behringer Eurorack 802A mixer, CX-2300 active crossover, then Behringer EP2500 power amp into home-made 1x15" rear scoop bass-bin (600W RMS handling) and 4x10" top cab (800W RMS) via Van Damme speaker cable. The amp can "only" do 450W RMS per channel though! This sometimes doubles as a subwoofer (with top cab switched off at the crossover) with the amp turned down low.
Nothing too posh, but I have only just finished being a student!

The gear I'm using at the minute is: obviously, MF X-CAN V3 (modded with PANASONIC FCs, NITAIs and 6H23P-EBs); X-DAC V3 (soon to be modded); X-10 V3 (which I can envisage being modded); and the X-PSU V3 (has anyone a good DIY design for a good power cable?). All the above are connected by VAN DEN HUL cables. I'm also using an ARCAM CD73 as a transport, connected via a QED SIGNATURE 75 co-axial digital interconnect. In the way of headphones, I've an old pair of SENNHEISER HD580s and a new pair of SENNHEISER HD650 with the CARDAS cable upgrade. Fergus

HI - with my XCAN V3 i use Grado SR60s, but also enjoy my Sennheiser 450s (I think thats their model number).
Source = Denon DVD 2900 universal CD / DVD(A) / SACD player.
Passive home-made pre ( A msuical Fidelity B200 with the power amp section not used) + MF A3.2CR power amp (excellent piece of kit)
Speakers are LS3/5A for main use plus MJ Acoustics Ref 100 sub.
Also have JR 149s and Magneplanar SMGa.

and the X-PSU V3 (has anyone a good DIY design for a good power cable?). Fergus Two metal Neutrik 3-Pin DIN connectors and a metre of 6A mains flex works as well as anything else. I still can't see the point in posh power cabling if changing the PSU makes little difference to the sound. Total cost: about £1.50

I use two pairs of 'phones:
1. Sennheiser HD 480s ( a little old now but still good condition) and these are soft, mellow and laid back.
2. And my favourites.. Grado SR60s - sensitive, detailed, spacious and uncoloured.
My main source is my Denon DVD2900 universal DVD/SACD/DVDA/CD macine. SACD > X-Can V3 > SR60 is a great way to listen.
I use a passive "pre amp" in my full system. It's a modified Musical Fidelity B200 integrated. The amp failed ages back - and as it had a passive input stage, in any case, I soldered output leads to the pot and mounted some extra phonos on the rear of the case to give me a variable level output. I left the power supply to the phono stage intact - but that failed too a while back, so the unit is just a line-level passive now using the original input sockets and selector switch. The pot in this unit is basic - I will order a new Blue Velvet Alps pot from this site (thanks for this mike - email on its way to you) which should improve my passive a huge amount. Next I will upgrade the input selector switch.
Power amp is the fantastic, fantastic, fantastic MF A3.2cr with 130 Wpc, masses of current and it's so beautiful. Didn't get as many positive reviews as it deserved - it's crisp, spacious and quite a bit tube-like too. I have Magneplanar SMGA panels, and the impedance of these "little" devils drops to 2 Ohms in places - the A3.2cr doesn't care; it just drives them hard.
But... my main speakers are Spendor 11 Ohm LS3/5As (re-housed in some new Stirling cabinets) - fantastic, spacious and uncoloured... you will have noticed that I like 'spacious and uncoloured'! An MJ Acoustics Ref. 100 sub gives the LS3/5As a helping hand.

OK - so I am stupid - I have already posted my system details. I noticed this when reading back over the other postings in this forum. DOH .. ! I noticed a comment from thegreatroberto - he asked if the LS3/5As were dificult to drive. No they are not. They seem to apreciate large amps - but 25 to 35 W is OK if it's a good quality amp. Common among LS3/5A enthusiast are (low pwered) valve amps - like the Quad IIs for example. Cheers guys
