No worries, Rickmeister, I'm not completely tape-recorder-less: I've still got my old Teac V-3000 - only an entry-level three-head cassette deck, but it did the job just fine for me. And I've also still got my old Sony WM-D6C portable deck, two good walkman players (Aiwa HS-PC202MIII and Sony WM-DC2) and two Panasonic hifi VHS/S-VHS vcrs (NV-HD660 & NV-HS900 - which mostly serve as external analogue tv-tuners nowadays, 'cause I've thrown out all old crt-tvs and now use computer tft-displays instead... I also got rid of almost all my old crt monitors - the only ones remaining are the one integrated in the Commodore SX-64 and another fairly small one, a 9 " Nixdorf-labeled Sony for my Amiga 2000...). And there also still are a Commodore Datasette for my C-64 stuff and a 1 GB Tandberg streamer in my beloved Super-486-PC. Hence I feel covered well enough on the tape front not to hoard any additional tape gear. For recording audio and video at home I'd rather use a pc today, anyway - and for the occasional audio recording on the go I also still keep two portable MiniDisc recorders. Oh, well, collectitis... It's really a pest. Grinnings from Munich (until now a bit overcast today, first snow wave of the Winter still melting away, ~ +4 °C I'd guess...)! Manfred / lini
