I don't know whether the locals there watch this, but the local constables and other miscreants here seem very keen on this series. It's not easy to follow, in that the main character is very odd. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b018ttws

Seen the original Sherlock Holmes with Jeremy Brett but this modern day Sherlock sounds cool..... I must get hold of it on DVD and have a look. I have only recently started to get into Foyle's War and the first episode was in 2002 and ran until 2015 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foyle%27s_War I didn't see ONE episode in the 13 years it ran but am now addicted to it..... superb series! It really captures life in WW2 England (Hastings to be precise) and Foyle basically investigates all the crimes that are taking place in Hastings whilst England is at war with Germany.... really good and each of the episodes are 2 hours long..... I think you would like Foyle's War a lot.
