On top of this stack is a x-tone.
I want to place an original at the front an a fake at the back so I don't have to make the hokes perfectly and paint them black. (I feel a song comming up)

This type of thing: My limited knowledge of 3D printing, suggests the printer can reproduce more or less anything. That is, if you present the scanner with a honeycombed original, it will reproduce it. Such a version would save a lot of €20 a cart material, would look attractive (in my view) & gather more dust. A variation could easily be created by drilling holes in a printed solid & rescanning. Might not be as attractive as the hexagonal holes above. With a router or Dremel one could engrave "x-cite" into the face; the possibilities are endless.

I did mine as exact replicas in aluminum. Im not too concerned about any potential resonance, if any exists at all. Ive cut 3 sets and will do more now that they have passed a FIT test. I'm still not sure if i will powdercoat or not. I like the industrial look of the raw aluminum, plus I have a few sets of the original factory x cite kits in black as well.
I may cut a bunch of extras to offer if I find that there is interest. Most likely ebay will be the testing ground to see if there is any worthwhile demand, otherwise, Im ok with just making what I need for my own purposes.
Ill move on to the double wide x series stackers next.
I dont see a way to add photos but if figure out how i can add some from my phone since Im traveling, I will post some images.

I'm interested in photo's, Bostown. How did you make the little rigde where the x-cite locks into the two x-ponent underneath?
With a 3d printer you can make almost anything nowadays. I want a Star Trek replicator in my house! That would be so cool. But then I would make roast duck curry all day long and have a heartattack within 3 months... No need to engrave x-cite in the 3d model because the printer can do that for you.
