Hi guys and guyesses I have been away from this board for a while undergoing medical tests for gut trouble. I have had a gastroscopy and they find that I have esophageal reflux and should lose weight and not have anything interesting to eat ever again.. oh and no alcohol I had a colonoscopy today which found nothing wrong which is a great relief as I thought I might have colon cancer, which my dad died from. I am awaiting the results of a CT scan which may throw some light on what's wrong. At least I feel a good deal more optimistic knowing that I haven't got colon cancer. Isn't our health service (UK) wonderful at the moment. Let's hope we can stop governments trying to privatise it any further.

Good to hear it wasn't as bad as you were expecting. All the best to you. Life is nothing without good health. Agree totally with your comments on the NHS.

Hey Chris, I'm glad to hear things are going well mate and, yes....... the NHS is a damned good institution that is being gradually f**ked by those who want to make an earner out of it, they MUST be stopped from lining their pockets or the NHS (as we know it) will soon become the NMNTS (no money no treatment service). It's not sustainable, in its present form, there are cutbacks required and they involve getting rid of all private outsourced "service providers" and any "body" that is a "centre of excellence with a mission statement" etc...... Get rid of all those leaches, employ more Doctors and Nurses and build more Hospitals to cope with the ever increasing demand / strain the NHS is under. I don't mind mass immigration as long as the services are in place to cope with the massive influx...... they are NOT. Sod "mission statements" and "centres of excellence" we need more Hospitals, more Doctors, nurses and less bureaucracy. The government (if you can call them that) haven't got a fekkin' clue what to do...... they are a bunch of inexperienced clowns with no vision, no ideas and no intention of investing in our future to improve the lives and prosperity of future generations that reside in this country. Their idea of "Progress" is to paint a Victorian bridge (in the hope that it will last another 100 years) rather than invest in a new bridge........ keep and preserve the existing Brunel masterpieces but also build new bridges, that's the way it should be....... The entire infrastucture of this country is reliant on what went "before" and has been a patch up job ever since. "Austerity" is just a word that is used to say "f**k it.... it ain't broke, patch it up, it will last a few more years". That shit is not the way to rebuild / build an economy...... the only way to do that is to get boots on the ground building a new infrastructure, a secondary infrastructure to the Victorian "model" (which will quite frankly collapse before any Brunel built bridge does!) and any money spent will be redeemed in taxes by the labour force employed to get the job done. Thing is this.......... everybody now aspires to a "degree" in "media studies" (or other stupid non useful occupations) and polytechnics have been turned into "universities"...... everybody wants to be a chief, nobody wants to be an indian. That is the MAJOR problem!!!!!! Joe Bloggs at number nine doesn't want to spend his day working nine to five digging a hole........ He wants to get a degree in "media studies" (essentially Watching f**king blu ray films whilst getting his tongue pierced)..... no WAY will he even contemplate working for a living. Samantha Smith at number 11 (his next door neighbour) is a single mother with 5 children (from five unknown fathers)......... she cant AFFORD to go to work, she would be £300 per week worse off if she took a job and would have to downgrade from a contract phone to a PAYG phone! Dobroslaw Nowakowski at number 13 (Polish migrant) has 3 jobs..... he works an 18 hour day and would work another 10 (if there were 28 hours in the day) he has the correct work ethic and the drive / ambition / need / want to better his lot. I am ALL for European migrants, this country needs them if we are to progress, and allow them to progreess...... what this country needs to LOSE are lazy benefit scrounging UK born wasters and child molesting Asian "grooming" gangs. Whoah....... where did all that come from Chris When I start typing I can't stop The "never eat anything nice" and "no alcohol" thing is a bitch and I can empathise with you. I have been off the booze for a week (6 days) and the urge to down a bottle of scotch is HUGE (The Chlordiazepoxide is wearing off) but every little "trigger point" is negated with a loud scream (seriously) and I go and do something that I have been putting off for the past few years....... today's "arghhh!" saw me replacing the discs and pads on my car....... plenty of swearing but I enjoyed the 4 hours doing it. I am absolutely GAGGING for a bottle of scotch right now but am manning up and fighting it.

The mass migrants are coming, and the money is drying up. I hate to be extremely pessimistic, but we've allowed things to slide as far as they have, and there's only one way out.

99 dreams I have had, and every one a red balloon. It's all over now and I'm standing pretty, in this dust that was a city. If I could find a souvenir, just to prove the world was here. And here is a red balloon, I think of you and let it go.

Joachim Witt is a Neue Deutsche Welle artist I picked up on recently www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iT0-sIkpy4Likewise, Peter Schiiling, but Major Tom works just as well, whether German or English www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1Hs2AQwDgA

There is no way out Dale, it has already happened....... way too late to start thinking about controlling immigration, our country has changed beyond belief and we will have to accept it. If you think about it, we can't really complain can we? Just think what the indigenous native Indians must have thought when the mass migrants totally desecrated their culture and wiped the majority of them off the face of the earth. Unless you believe that a Native Indian is an inferior being then what happened was an absolute attrocity.... basically mass genocide that has been romanticized by Hollywood with the "cowboys" being the good guys and the native Indians the bad guys.

The Native American culture was inferior in both technology and purpose, and was subsequently replaced. If the Muslim culture is superior to ours in purpose (hard to argue given how degenerate we've become) and technology (not yet determined) then they will win, else there will be massive bloodshed. I'm expecting massive bloodshed, which will have the side effect of cleaning out much of the degeneracy, which ironically (or not) was what Hitler did when he cleaned up Berlin early-on.

Thanks to Nigel and Mike for your replies. I agree with most of what you wrote Mike. I went to two different hospitals for my tests. Not sure why my GP didn't get it all done in one place. The odd thing was that the Gastroscopy was at an NHS hospital but the top floor of the part I was in was not NHS but "Care UK", a private company that the NHS has given floor space to. I can't fault the actual treatment and pleasantness of the staff, but the was a touch of conveyor belt about it all. The first nurse I spoke to exaggerated the time of the recovery period if you were to request sedation (I was cowardly and was considering sedation for when they stuck the thing down my throat). They obviously wanted to do the simple 'in and out' method of throat spray with the possibility of have Entonox gas. In the end, despite knowing what she was up to I decided to go the quick route and I can say that it was quite unpleasant but all over in about 3 to 4 minutes. The Colonoscopy was at another NHS hospital but this time it actually was NHS. This was a calm, considerate and relaxed department, which nevertheless were very busy. The standard for Colonoscopy is to have sedation. You have to request NOT to have it. I made no such request. It seemed to be over in a short time and I could see my pipework on the screen. I didn't feel a thing and was awake throughout. There was no hurry and they didn't let me out until they were sure I was capable of leaving safely. I was rather dreading it and my blood pressure shot up into the red beforehand. I have never seen such I high figure. Anyway. All over now thank goodness. Just waiting for CT scan results. I am coming to terms with the no alcohol thing, at least until I lose some weight. I may reconsider at that time but I may either drink no, or very little alcohol after that. It's the food part I will find the most difficult. Can't have food that is too spicy or acidic, and there is a long list of other things that should be avoided too. I can see it's going to end up with bread and water. Anyway, it's good to be able to sit down and listen to some music again without all those distractions on my mind.

Chris and Dale, I REALLY think that things will turn out OK for you both. I know it's easy to say but don't worry about anything, it may never happen, and even if it does happen don't worry..... it will either turn out good or not, no point stressing that will only make matters worse. I drove my friend down to Inverness last Wednesday (a friggin' 6 hour round trip) to get his eyeballs injected (he has macular degeneration)....... oh shit, I wouldn't mind a tube inserted up my arse but a needle in my eyeball? NO WAY!!!! When I was in the factory (sorry, the "Hospital") I was amazed by how many people were in there...... it was like a mini city full of people with ailments...... touchwood, I haven't been to a Hospital (as a patient) since the early 80's and have no intention of ever becoming a patient in one! My philosophy is this.... you live and then you die. In the meantime I will avoid anal probes / eye injections etc. at all cost..... when my time is up it's up
