This morning I was searching out a distorted "rumble" coming thru the speakers in my bed-side computer music system and went thru the usual "process of elimination" routine, finally finding the offending tube and applied the fix. Some tubes just don't work in a circuit, even tho they may be a "sub" for the original. But, while re-tuning this great little system for the replacement tube, I got on to an internet radio station I go to a lot and thought I'd mention it for anyone interested in free electronica chill/downtempo type music. Name is Psychedelik.com and is from Russia, I believe. It's not "on" 24/7...it's on now tho, 9:40am, Detroit time, which would be minus 5 hours from Greenwich mean time. You'll know it's on when you, if you're like me and store internet radio stations on your Winamp player's bookmarking feature, select that station...an electronic voice comes on and says "You're listening to Psychedelik.com, that's Psychedelik with a "K"! and then the music starts and for me, they've got my fondness for that genre, covered...almost with every tune.
Good stuff...playing a selection from "Dub Alchemist" at present j

As an addendum to my thread posting...I'd like to add:
Shoutcast website plus Winamp player (available on file hippo) combine to not only present some fantastic streaming radio stations for a bunch of different genres but also thru Winamp, let one preview/listen to them individually before bookmarking as stations to visit whenever, on/in the Winamp player's bookmarks. This is quite the user friendly interfacing of music from all over the World. Again...Good stuff! j

(grin) Whoa...not okay to mention where and how to get what is becoming one of computer audio's most popular features...internet radio? To get from here...zed/zero/0...to here...music playing gloriously thru computer speakers from a source clearing house that has 55 thousand internet radio stations available to access and at any one time half a million peeps listening in? I guess I'm asking is it spam to educate by way of naming access sites? I'll stop if it is...no prob...and delete this thread. j

There were no problems with the post. The enthusiastic wording and the way it was written reminded me a little of Spam at first.
That's all.

That's all. I am enthusiastic, I guess, about a lot of stuff. When you grow up in a time in history when access to entertainment consisted of a black and white tv with 3 channels to access on it, a clock radio with just AM, and going to the movies (albeit for only 25 cents Sat matinee) and listening to records...the ability to access, free I might add, 55k different music outlets is something to feel enthusiastic about...because to me, it's nuts...in a good way. Also, all the info I listed is free. Some stations advertise (I drop those) and some ask for donations (personal choice) but most are free and play all manner of some of the most fantastic music I've heard. And, Winamp is and has been defunct for quite a while and the download site I listed has reputable references and the website listed for the radio stations sends the music to Winamp, Win Media Player or a Mac thing, directly. I don't know...maybe I write that way because I was a journalism student and still frame my posts as reviews, even using journalistic punctuation (correctly I hope, Mr. what's him name?, my old teacher) and references. It's a learned technique. But, if the post is okay....go check out the music already, Alex!
