I think it is a good idea to have a list of good record shops worth visiting for anyone who still buys vinyl Post new/secondhand shops not ones that sell cd,s and a few records or the owner is a dick/wants silly prices My choices
GEORGES RECORD SHOP Tulketh st Southport Lancs 07708 138641 The end of Tulketh st (just off it), it cost £1.60 for 2 hours parking (traffic wardens regular) This is a good shop, you can get near mint vinyl for good prices and you will probably find what your after, floyd and zappa are a little scarce but i got a nm original original zappa- joes garage act 2and 3 with insert for £9 Shop is a little crammed and the aisles are a little tight but well worth the visit
MUSICAL BOX West derby rd, Tuebrook Liverpool 0151 263 3845 Never been to this shop even though it has been there for years, i only found out about it a couple of weeks ago I will give it a visit within the next month, seems to get a thumbs up from customers
PROBE RECORDS El bluecoat, unit 1 school lane, Liverpool city centre 0151 708 8815 This shop only sells new vinyl and has been going for years, i used to buy punk albums from here in the late 70,s when it was in button st Get some obscure stuff here, bought a 2x180g reissue of tago mago by can a few days ago
Thats my pennys worth for now, feel free to add shops to the list (good ones) Paddy

Unfortunately, I don't know any to currently compare. Actually Paddy, there's another second hand record shop that's worth a visit next time you're up this way, Quicksilver Records on Market Street. Bit more pricey than George's place but I think you'll be suitably impressed.

For Shropshire / West Midlands / NE Wales there is the Oswestry record store 'Outwhere Records' at www.facebook.com/OUTWHERERecordswww.outwhererecords.co.uk/ ('website coming soon' it says) A good sized shop with plenty of stock. I bought an old mono Jack Teagarden LP - haven't played it all the way through yet. Derek
