Afternoon all,
I currently am having a huge issue with the amount of c**p that my wife insists ion watching on the television, and as the Christmas schedule shows a 70% chance of repeats then HELP!!!
I have many open back and semi closed back headhones, from Stax to ATH W1000, Porta Pro to our own favourite Superluxes. The one thing I don't have is a good pair of closed back cans that will cut out the TV whilst stopping the wife shouting to turn them down.
I have a largish head which allways makes things more difficult when fitting, and I don't want to spend a huge amount of cash as I can allways go else where to listen to proper headphones when I have to.
So any ideas??
Andy

I can heartily recommend the AKG K550. Very fulfilling sound quality and are currently much cheaper brand new than they once were. They can easily be had new for £100 without much effort. They are sensitive to getting the seal twixt head and cushion cup spot on but as you say you have a large head this should be easier in your case. If you wear specs with arms that are proud away from the side of your head you will have to listen spec-less as they ruin said seal and make the cans sound quite poo!
Further down the scale, in fact at half the price, are the AKG K451 which although I have never heard them they do receive extensive good press.
