The still-life here was virtually in darkness - the extreme low light consisted of a low-tech CCrane LED lamp about 12 feet away and not directed toward the subject. This image was underexposed by approximately 4 stops, but fixed up rather well. Apparently Apple knew something about keeping the shutter speed 'just' high enough (with Apple's image stabilization for the iPhone 6 Plus), and not letting the ISO get out of hand, to create a usable image. The 'selfie' was taken with the front-facing camera (image size 1280x960), also in very low light, but underexposed by only about 1-1/2 stops. Unlike the still-life image, some digital artifacts had to be cleaned up. The combination of extreme low light and using the front-facing camera results in major noise and artifacts - not recommended. iPhone 6-plus, f2.2, 1/15 sec. handheld, ISO 2000. iPhone 6-plus, f2.2, 1/15 sec. handheld, ISO 2000.
