The X can I had was modded, new caps and vaves the kit from Mike off here years ago, and later the power supply...little pinky I think it was called. The MAD is a great amp. If you look on the site he is always busy building them. Thing is I have a feeling Lloyd Peppard has passed on the work to someone else as he is getting on....I could be wrong, but the Super HD doesnt seem to be listed anymore, its a different one now.

Which Audeze do you have?. I have LCD 3 which I am looking to sell as I have gone to Focals. Top amps are great with LCD 3 and the MAD was OK. I have a specially built H/P Amp by John Wood now. I mainly use headphones as I am in a small house, sold my big speakers and amps when I moved and invested in this system with the cash.I love it.

These are superb little headphone amps, this one is about 6 years old and hasnt had a great deal of use due to my contract working away. I have moved on to a John Wood amp now.I can email pics on request, the price is firm at £325. A new one is best part of a grand after importing from Canada. It has 4 imputs and an out for taping if you need that as I did at the time. These are highly regarded amps on HeadFi which is mainly Stateside. It is way better than any of my old M.F.X.Cans. s42.photobucket.com/user/malky1422/library/NAD%20HD%20Super%202?sort=3&page=1Link above for pics on photo bucket, but as I am pretty useless with these things let me know if pics dont come up.

This is a great post, I think Karen is sadly missed, the only girl I can listen to singing her songs is in the link, as she in reality won Eurovision this year she is now getting noticed after a long hard road for her. If yuou want to know more do some web research, you will be surprised. www.youtube.com/watch?v=rj5d7myK4Ho

I'm still around. I haven't been dabbling much with audio much lately, I still blow the cobwebs out of the speakers now and again, but haven't picked up a soldering iron for a while. Owen! Long time no see man, glad all is well with you sir! Seems to be pretty much the same story, a loss of interest in something that was once a passion...... DIY has definitely taken a dive. We are almost force fed cheap Chinese electronics these days and the passion to "improve" on home grown products has become a thing of the past, it's quite sad but indicative of the age we are living in. Vinyl anybody? Not many........... Mobile phone as part of your "home" system? Pretty much everybody. I was in the bike shop today and, for some strange reason, the conversation went from "stretched bike chains" to the lyrics of a Carpenter's song........ I stood my ground and said it was "Billy Gumbo" and was told that I was wrong, there was no such lyric in the song "Jambalaya"..... I did a youtube in the shop and they were all like "f**k me, you're right"........ "it is Billy Gumbo"!!!! Mike (another Mike) said "by the way, that phone sounds great"........ eh? it sounds like SHIT!!!!! that's the 4th time I have been told that my phone sounds great so there's a pattern here...... 2 pence a pop phone speakers do not sound great / they will never sound great....... they will only ever sound absolute shite at the very best!! Anyhoo........ they were all congratulating me on my "Billy Gumbo" knowledge and admitting defeat...... I was like "I know my music, even stuff from the Carpenters, I'm not often wrong" etc. WELL......... It just goes to show...... I got home double checked to find the exact words are: "Jambalaya and a crawfish pie and fillet gumbo" OMG! That's almost as embarrassing as finding out (about 10 years ago) that the Kinks were singing "Cherry Cola" and NOT "Terry Cola" (Lola) as I had believed for many years You can imagine my embarrassment...... "Who's Terry Cola?" What do you mean? "The geezer the Kinks are singing about" No no...... it's Cherry Cola, not Terry Cola. Anyhoo....... off to Google a Fillet Gumbo (whatever a fillet of Gumbo is)....... weird, I still think it's Billy Gumbo.... what do you think?

Ive seen Quo 5 times over the years, the first time was 1972 when they were support band with the Slade tour. Quo had fairly recently got away from the PYE contract, they had the Dog album under their belts and had just released Pile Driver on Virtigo. They were begining to build a fairly big following as a rock band and mainly the Quo fans had specially turned up, and were not really there for Slade. Although the Slade bit was a good laugh, Dave Hill on his 8 inch heeled platform boots etc. Quo wasnt the best choice to tour with as a lot buggered off after Quo, and they werent interested in a Slade encore which wasnt forthcoming anyway. Jesus was Noddy Holder bloody loud ...Get Down Get With It. It was Manchester Free Trade Hall....and I had very long hair then.

YO ... I Havent been on here either for a couple of years maybe longer. I now live on the isle of Wight, so my system is now designed around headphones with a top notch amp from John Wood and Audeze LCD 3.I live in a small house and have to consider neighbours to some degree. Sold a lot of other equipment off to change to this, it beats any speaker system I have ever had and is my main source od listening now. When I get chance I will put pics up.

In excellent condition and little used. Mapletree Ear+HDSuper II custom, comes with power supply, 4 line inputs and a tape out for recording , had this done as I am still into the classic Nakamichi Cassette decks, cost me very little more, most people would not use it. This is the best amp I have heard blew my Pinked Xcan away. I have now upgraded to a John Wood built Amp as I am going to a total headphone system which has cost well into 4 figures, but it still does not rubbish the MAD. I am the original owner , bought this a tad over 2 yrs ago, little used cost me £780 by the time I got it into the UK charges etc. Asking £500 Pics on request. Link below..do your homework, search for reviews and discussions etc. Not seen a bad word about this amp. hollowstate.netfirms.

Ive had my Pinkied , Mikes fully modded XCan V3 for years now and fancied an upgrade. Especially as I will be moving house within the next couple of years to maybe a flat or somwhere where I may not be able to use the speaker system I have to benifit due to neighbours, the headphones may be the best answer. So I was thinking something high end. I have scoured the Headfi forum (Stateside) They seem to have much more available over there than we have. Can be shipped but with all the charges its possibly out of the question. I was thinking of the WOO WA 2. www.wooaudio.com/products/Havent read anything bad about his amps on headfi. They are built in New York, the guy is Chinese decent, no doubt there is some chinese parts in them, but he uses Blackgate caps which I think are from Japan. Everything seems very high quality with different upgrade options available. Comments and advice please. Malky

Selling my Michell Orbe. Its 2004 Perfect Condition, DC. Motor version armboard is for SME. All boxed, very nice.I found this to be much more open and detailed than my previous Linn LP 12 Cirkus/Lingo etc. I have heard a lot more from my records since, but im on the upgrade path again and will have to spend quite a lot to better this I think. PSU is fitted with Missing Link Opus mains cable, much better than the cheap standard wire. Always has been treated with TLC non smoking environment, no kids or pets ever been near it.PM initially I will emil pics. £1195

Robert this set up is great with this cable according to the American Head Fiers its the bees knees. I changed from the stock cable right away so didnt get chance to weigh up the differences, but the fact that these cans were previously connected to one pod via the steel headphone band was a bit naff, and was reason enough to change. As new very little used , the highly regarded 701 with Equinox cable supposedly the best for these, which I waited ages for this from the states. Wired in by an electrical engineer (not me) total cost was £370 Asking £270 ovno....cant just go out and get these with this cable.
