I have some old inner ears (6 yearsish +) which I could do with upgrading. Tech has moved on in that time Anyway the prob as you can all know I expect is inner ears are not ideal for walking in shops and popping in and out of your ears to test/compare so peoples input would be greatfully recieved...... I use them for the dog walks (many) and round about town when I go in. I have a pair of Grado SR80i's which I use when dry. Not a general walk about phone I grant you being open backed but I live in the sticks a bit so walking the dog the background noise is very small, but when its wet its the inners as the Grados don't like being covered up by a hood with the open back and it all gets a bit bulky and cumbersome with hoods up!! The inners at the moment are Ultimate Ear StudioFi 3's quite old!!!! So rather than me just going and buying the Shure SE425 as recommended by What HiFi the I would welcome and feedback on a particular phones between the £100-200 mark...... Thanks in advance BMX

Hi bmxargh, I have a pair if Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 which you should be able to find in your price range. The problem I have is that whilst they are good , as in ears go , they will not come close to your Grado's and I find myself saying buy a cheap in ear and use the Grado when you can. I don't believe that there is sufficient difference between an expensive in ear and a cheaper model to make it worthwhile buying the more expensive. When I compare the Triple Fi to my AKG 702 full size headphone there is a massive difference, the AKG being so much more detailed and clear . I am at the stage where I just avoid wearing the Triple Fi and somewhat resent their price and the hype that surrounded them when I bought them.
