This channel processes many container ships per day - some at the load point pictured, and some off to the left and right by 3/4 of a mile or so. f2.0, 1/25, ISO 800.

Hi Dale While appreciating that B &W can often present an entirely new perspective, why the preference over Colour photography with scenes like this one ? For example, a beautiful sunset or sunrise can look stunning, but would be wasted on B &W . Just curious. Alex

In this case, the clouds were the wintery gloomy type, and perfect for black and white. Another factor of course is that my no. 1 camera now shoots b&w only, so I am trying to get a good collection of b&w's and eventually weed out the ones that don't fit very well. But it's all new, and very different from the film b&w I did in the 60's and 70's.
