Having looked again at my Chiara, there is a set of small capacitors which I am tempted to replace.
They are listed in the build manual as,
10nf PCR 5P0.
Could someone tell me what the PCR and 5P0 bits mean. Also any ideas for good replacements would be appreciated.
I have looked at the capacitors fitted and they are marked 100-CMK-9229 on the side and 01J on the top.
Thanks.
Adrian.

I would just use a normal 10nF film capacitor, or leave the existing. Regards Alex

Adrian At a quick look at the schematic posted in RG, which may be different to yours, C7 for example was used at the output from a series 33 ohm resistor to earth. It is there for stability purposes. I seriously doubt that there is any advantage at that location over a modern film type 10nf 100V (.01uF) for 35c from Jaycar etc. C7 was the only 10nF I could find on this schematic.

You are (as usual) spot on - looking at the board it does seem (to me) to do what you say.
I will leave it as it is.
I have recently replaced C3,C5 & C7 with KIWAME resisters and the amp has stepped up a gear.
I have the bug !!!!!!.
I should just leave it as it is.

Hi Adrian It would also appear to be an advantage to use Bulk Metal Foil resistors in selected locations of an amplifier. C3, C5 and C7 are capacitors, not resistors. Kind Regards Alex
