Well, this seems to be working now. Not easy for iPad, but working. I shot this with the X Vario last night, and while the light was getting dim and the X Vario at f6.3 was struggling for light (and I without tripod), I fired several bursts at 1/10 second at ISO 1600. I got 2 sharp images from 25, 5 bursts of 5 each. I used Noise Ninja to suppress some of the noise, and while NN hasn't been good for me for color images, it worked very well here (my first b&w using NN). BTW, the cafe pictured says that I consumed 13 percent of the coffee they sold their first year in operation (2009). Uploaded with ImageShack.com

Well, I've tried every way I can to insert a photo, and failed. I created a Photobucket account to copy photos to, so hopefully Photobucket would automatically resize them, but I can't get one to post here. Photobucket provides several link formats, and I tried the default as well as the "forum/boards" format. Hi Dale I use ImageShack for my photos etc. They provide direct Forum links, as well as resizing (or not) provisions. Regards Alex

(Another long struggle with Imageshack) I've shot this bridge with everything but the M Monochrom, but the only other camera comparable to the X Vario that I've used for a similar take is the Nikon Coolpix A, which has the same type sensor as the X Vario. But there's quite a large difference in quality. This result here (f6.4, 3.2 sec., ISO 400, 70 mm FL) surprised me, and one camera I don't have access to that I'd like to use on this bridge for comparison is the Fuji X100s. I didn't have a tripod handy, so I propped the camera against an otterbox cellphone case for the self-timer exposure. There are 5 stars clearly visible in this image.
