That looks like a good piece of kit.
I’ve tried the ones from Maplins and TBH I only used them once as they lacked the adjustment I needed to make them useful.

Those are metal saw irrigation flexibles. Do they have any strength? I have several of these... But never use them: I get the most use out of a bench edge vise, very similar to this one: Not home made though.

I have the same at home Marc. The Top one gets very regular usage (have 2 sets) and lower (I have EXACTLY that) one was totally crap. Not man enough for the larger jobs it claims to handle, in fact I broke mine!

Those are metal saw irrigation flexibles. Do they have any strength? Scroll down a bit on the link Marc and you'll see it holding a five pound metal bar. Handy for those really thick pcb's
