So which one can be for both? The Altronic or ESP PCBs? If my memory is OK it's the Altronics kit. It most certainly would be! My feeling is it's not worth it plus the problem of power consumption probably makes it a non starter. Good, we can compare notes further down the line

Another Alternative. This design was originally published in Silicon Chip July 2009. PCBs are available from E.P.E. magazine for 10GBP each. Alex

Can anyone confirm it can do LR and moded according to Frans cct? I may try it also as it's pure mono for 2 way and already have an inbuilt PS unlike the ESP. Let me consider and think about it more after all the forthcoming confirmations.

Alex Ah, that looks more for consideration and cheaper than the ESP as without components. But now no inbuild PS. Let me consider more. Just can buy the PCBs as still not finish with my dedicated AV network and testing yet.

How about single driver speakers? Then you don't have stereo. Anyway, people were writing well recorded mono is better then stereo in the Hifi mags. So your take .................

How about single driver speakers? Miguel You need something like a Rocking Armature receiver. They have an easy to drive impedance and are quite sensitive. Alex

How about single driver speakers? a single wire will do. (two for stereo/dual mono) ;D Some, however, have small correction networks. here is a nice website: fullrangedriver.com/singledriver/index.htmlNever heard an exceptional one though that does almost everything right. (except in headphones)

On a serious note, single driver speakers sound best for vocal and classical type of music. All rounder, like Frans had written, I have not heard one. But we must have different system in our place to play play though else hifi will be boring without the omph and gaga factor.

Only when someone has actually bought the PCB and is building it I will give the pointers on how-to. It doesn't make sense to put time in it when it is not built anyway. I've ordered one up! If all goes to plan I should have all the normal components for the build by the time it arrives in approxiamately 2 weeks. Wow! That was quick (one week), I haven't even looked at ordering the parts yet. Looks like I'll be ordering them with amp parts then Attachments:

cj Beware, getting into digital processing can be very involved, to say the least. but then processing in the digital domain can do almost anything from simple notch filters, crossovers to full room correction. There are programs around for all of this, and can be utilized from a pc and sound card. eg RME, M-Audio etc With the ESP crossover pcb you already have, use something like pin sockets for the crossover capacitors and resisters. At least it will make it easier to change crossover frequency points. www.marchandelec.com/ftp/xm1man.pdfPage 11, I used the 3000pF caps so I have a crossover frequency range by varying the resister value Oh I have used the XM16
