Chong Does Tripath stand for : 1. Radiated crap through the air. 2. Radiated crap through the mains, 3. Radiated crap through interconnects etc. ? Try listening to A.M. radio near it Try holding a portable A.M. radio near it's power lead. Only stirring.

I've got two of those things as well and would rather "balance" them with the help of a sledgehammer and then balance them into the dustbin..... It's worth trying Chong (your way) but I wouldn't expect any sonic revelations

Actually trying it out for the fun of things as I have also 2 lying around. Good sound will be a bonus. So wait for the review if it works first ..............

Rather have more fun here ................ So take out the "speaker binding posts" .............. Hmm.............., rather good quality PCBA with double ground planes for such a "cheap" amp. Btw, what value is this film cap? 150 nf? Will change to a FKP if I can find those amongst my stash. I know I have them but don't know where I put them up. Bought the normal and mini XLRs for a balanced HA drive ........... Yup, both gold plated pins. Actually haven't think about it until now. Since I'm going to shield the cables for pin 1 to maximise the performance of the XLR which ground of the TA2024 I should connect this pin 1 to? Analogue Ground (TA2024 Pins 5, 8, 17), Digital Ground (Pin 22) or Power Ground (Pins 35, 20)? Or all the various grounds are connected in a common ground? Need those answers quick or else cannot progress with the XLR cables making.

I would think it is 150nF (.15uF)

I would think it is 150nF (.15uF) Thanks that's what I think as well. Never mind, will measure it to confirm.

Thanks, it's correct pin 1 goes to ground but which ground. On the Tripath chip, there are 3 ground type leads - Power Ground, Analogue Ground and Digital Ground. Or all these are connected to an overall ground? Look like it must be Analogue Ground as that's what the HP drivers are reproducing.

Anyway, I will go ahead and make the cables with the ground in mind for pin 1 as it will still work without pin 1 connected. Pin 1 is just for shielding.

Confirmed it's 150nf with meter ............. Took out the OCC copper wires from the speaker binding posts and transferred for the battery compartment power future. Yup, biwired to make sure maximum power transfer at PS lowest resistance and noise ................ So from ......... to Heh, heh, heh, a POWERFUL BALANCED PORTABLE HA too which current portable HAs CANNOT offer at this type of power with balanced outputs and long lasting battery efficiency on the go if wanted to. Of course, you know I wouldn't take one along on the go as an Iphone or a Samsung HP and ear buds are already good enough for me.

"Stolen" these enamel copper wires from my father's stash for pin 1 role .............. and so wire and connector making day for me with ................ Tefloned OCC Copper Gauge 20, more than enough for mW to W HPs, here: I always prefer OCC Copper than Silver so far .......... Copper XXXX and XXXXXXXXXX here: Oops, what I have there too? PVC .............................. here: So Internet silence while I have the fun ............

Internet unsilence time! So ............ Did the twist to reduce inductance but increased capacitance. Anyway, Class D amps need small capacitance like the 150nf to filter out the high frequency garbage like dac and SACD and so this is a great move. "Teflon caps" there too. Close up and personal. You figure it out which is the odd one out. Not the twist, btw ................... So have you do the twist to prepare for this here? Well, have to change with time, right?

After warming up to the twist, I did the copper tape twist. Oh no, not another twist. This time the old fashion way. Happy? It's Saturday Night Fever, you know! So who said the middle of the last century will lose out to the present or future? Try the twist and you decide which is more fun ............... Yeah, the new, old and my copper twist ............ Then what you think? Isn't this about audio diy twist too? Oops, got too carried away by the middle of the last century stuff. Heh, heh .............., I mean this ..................... Close up ................

Bottleneck now and progressing slowly as there seems to be more things to change than can be handled all at once as once reinstalled back, it will be quite hard to take out again within that very confined space of the amp. So what need to be moded or changed better be moded or changed now. So have to do the full monty! Btw, do we connect the XLR ground lug to pin 1? There are 3 pins and 1 ground lug. The problem is if unconnected, the XLR plugs will not be shielded. Also at the sametime, when connected there can be a ground loop hum when HAs virtual ground and earth are connected togather.

As doing the OCD full monty so ............ , the most tedious task and took me the whole day today. Original ........... The "jigsaw puzzle" ........... The completed copper clad lower "chassis" ................... This completion at least allowed me the choice to carry on doing the PCBA fixed back into the chassis. This is yet to be copper cladded though ................ Not fancy doing it now. So ...............
