John, I know this isn't a discussion thread, but do the American Fire's download content from Amazon UK?
That's the one issue that stopped me getting one. I've been waiting for the UK one.

Hi Ian,
Sorry for the slow reply.
No, it won't download UK Amazon content at the moment. However, you can "root" the device and install the Google Apps malarky.
This particular tablet is now sold. DaveK has just got a small Andriod tablet that he's playing with. Perhaps one of those may suit your requirement.
Cheers
Jon

Yep, I'm happy with mine, for what it cost but there are no user instructions and the seller, despite offering to answer any 'How to'? questions has failed to respond. My advice is that they are a good buy if you are au fait with tablets and Android 4 or are intuitive with these sort of things but if you like/need step by step guidance you may struggle. This is what I bought: - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280869674748?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649The build quality is excellent and when loading apps you get a message advising whether the app in question is compatible with this SAMSUNG ICS device, which might explain the build quality - nowhere else is any recognisable brand name to be seen. Cheers, Dave.

Some of the Kindles come with covers but others may not. If you do not have a cover for your Kindle you may want to invest in one. The latest generation Kindle covers run from $40 to $150 depending on the style that you choose and can easily be purchased online at many retailers including the online auction sites that are in abundance. If you are looking for a Kindle cover you can easily find one at a discount on the internet. Be sure that you have all of the product information before purchasing from an online store. You should know the return policy and make sure that the cover will fit your Kindle Cover

That's a long way to go for a Kindle cover if you're in the UK!! I got a really good cheap Kindle Fire cover from Amazon UK. £9.70. It has a folding side which makes it into a stand so you can stand it upright on a table if you want or have it angled so it's flatter. A really brilliantly designed cover. Although I have one, the Fire comes out at the end of October sometime. They are brilliant. These cases are great and are also leather with a stylus if you want to use one. Not just a flat case that you have to hold all of the time: www.amazon.co.uk/Amazon-Kindle-Leather-Wallet-Capacitive/dp/B0060LTC1G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1348436125&sr=8-1
