Bought this a little while back It has brought some real warmth and fun back to my system. It comes with some cheapo Chinese valves that I should get round to changing but it sounds so nice

A set of NOS or Russian valves would be a nice addition.

NOS 1970s russains turned up today Only £10 so keeping it well within team cheap git territory ;D Its been a while since I've changed a valve, am I right in thinking they just lift out and plug back in? IE you don't have to match numbered pins up?

The bottom of the tube has to be aligned with the socket. You will see the pin arrangement plus there is a "key" on the tube base that aligns with the socket. On the enclosed pic you will see at about 3:00 o'clock a "hole" in the center hole, the "key" in the tube base aligns with it.

Hi there!
Have you tried any mods to the Yaqin? I have read about improvements when changing caps & internal wiring. How is it sounding with the new set of tubes by the way? I am considering buying one for an FM tuner...but there is also an Indeed MKIII tube buffer as well. Anyone out there with info/experience about?
