Thanks man! My wife and I actually converted a cabinet from Poland, added lights, a dimmer and new paint. Thanks to your members for suggestions on components that would match my budget.

What are the model numbers etc? I like the TEAC gear, always excellent quality for the money.... their compact systems have always been a favourite of mine.... nice sound quality, reasonable price and aesthetically tuned in

I like the black finish on the Teac stuff. I changed my wifes system to a Teac 300 a while ago but the gold version. Did you tune the LED on the Sunrise to match the strobe on the Technics?

I like the black finish on the Teac stuff. I changed my wifes system to a Teac 300 a while ago but the gold version. Did you tune the LED on the Sunrise to match the strobe on the Technics? It was an subconscious thing actually. As a kid, I remember staying at my Grandpa's house, and in he had his stereo in the room where I would sleep. He would play a record for me at bed time, and the strobe would stay on when it was done playing. I loved that glow, and associated it with relaxed listening. When I got the Project Sunrise, I made sure that it wasn't green or blue, but went subconsciously back to my Grandpa's guest room. Coincidentally, when I got the turntable, the colors matched. The human brain is a weird beast, LOL! I'm glad I went with my gut on the color, but the nice thing (as you know) is that I could change it. PS, I really like the TEAC stuff, but I'm way behind on it... Looks like there was a CD recorder in this series too. If you ever see one for sale in black, please let me know. RW-H300 I think.

Yes, great looking cabinet, nice lighting, and some nice Teac gear, as Mike says and i agree, good quality for reasonable money. Owned some myself over the years. Enjoy Mick.

The mistake I made going with the h300 series is that it is VERY hard to find the components. I'm looking for an RW-H300 to complete this, and I'm having very little luck.

I'm not sure why you are after the CD recorder?
Having dabbled with them before I found them to be far less capable than promised. A normal PC is quite capable of making copies at least equal to, if not better, than the average HiFi CDR unit.
(I still have some untouched audio CDR discs left from abandoning the recorder)

cj, by what method would you attach a turntable to a PC for recording? Hardware and software? Is there already a thread on this?

Hi Matt, I'm not exactly the worlds authority on this and am still experimenting to obtain best results myself. see rockgrotto.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=talk&action=display&thread=5695There are just several questions you need to ask yourself; What quality are you used to on LP playback? Do you want to keep as near as possible to the original or is "decent" good enough? Will you use the line out of an existing HiFi to feed an interface and thence the computer or will you need a phono stage (RIAA) in said interface? This will depend on either your own take on the process or the quality of the Phono section in your HiFi amplifier. More here (vinyl engine forum)I hope that helps. Chris

FWIW here's my bedroom system....... An FM tuner, amp plus a pair of those JBL Control One 'monitors'. The TV is wi-fi enabled so I can stream music or video from my home office PC. It also plays same from a USB memory stick. I did have a DVD-A / SACD / CD machine here but I have run out of shelves. There's an HD Freeview box too - 30 quid from Tesco on-line. Regards, Derek

What model is that Sony TV? Still a CRT model with inbuild wifi? Btw, why do you put the stereo speakers on top of one another? Then how are you going to get the stereo effect from Nicam stereo? Thanks.
