These guys deserve a KNIGHTHOOD.... they have been entertaining us from the 1960's to the present day... Just have a look at their stats.... quite an achievement! www.statusquo.co.uk/factsheet.htmThey are better "today" than they have EVER been live, truly mind blowing.... you want "loud" look no further than the Quo! Why is it that nobody seems to want to ADMIT they are the dog's bollocks? Their concerts sell out year after year and you are GUARANTEED one helluva show every time! This is them now..... it's bloody AWESOME "live".... remember that these guys have been at the top for over 40 YEARS!! The "opening" to their 2 hour live set: a bit of down down: whatever you want? A bit of rock and roll? I just the LOVE the Quo and would urge everybody to see them live or checkout their Pictures - Live at Montreaux 2009 DVD.... They are in their 60's now but still rockin' like f@ck!!

I saw them live at Knebworth about 15 or 20 years ago. I've never been a massive Quo fan, but along with Pink Floyd, that were also on the bill, they were the best act on that day and they pretty much the only band on that day that got the whole place, 30,000 people, going.
Favourite Quo track:

My dad used to play me Status Quo when I was young and impressionable, and I keep meaning to buy a CD of theirs but haven't managed to get around to it. The 'Pictures' album seems like a good deal but I'm wary of 'digital remasters' in general and I prefer to hear individual cohesive albums rather than compilations.
Any ideas about the best album to get for a Quo semi-noobie? There seem to be a few to choose from...

I'm no Quo aficionado but Piledriver is wicked.

My two favourite QUO albums are: - QUO (1974) Favourite track - Slow Train (Awesome guitar work) ;D
- HELLO (1978) Favourite track - Softer Ride (Takes me back to my army days with brilliant weekends in Dusseldorf)
Both albums are worth every penny.

Just watched the video and it brought back memories of when I was younger and went down to Glastonbury to see Genesis. I have never actually seen Quo live but that is firmly on my 2012 new years resolution list - they often play Bridlington Spa which is only an hour from me.
Can feel a strong urge coming on to play Gerundula from Dog of Two head very loudly - Rock on Quo.

Regarding the above post, I was in Bridlington two weeks back and noticed Quo were on the forthcoming attractions at the Spa. Lovely part of the world.
Status Quo night on BBC4 happening now for those inclined. I suspect Mike might be tuning in.

I read concert dates cancelled as Rick Parfitt has suffered a heart attack. erm..... yup......... happened a few months ago....... Quo are now the Francis Rossi band doing an acoustic set...... the geezer that used to be in "The Bill" is playing accordian with them...... This car crash happened last Sunday at Hyde Park: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0448khperm....... not a WORD from Rossi regarding Rick...... piss poor if you ask me. Rossi has got what he always wanted...... Whittaker Quo (with Old Bill on accordian) Rick is fit and well (a little birdie tells me) and won't be going back into the band "as is".

That was so wrong on every level Nigel, more of a "Status Quorn" than Status Quo......... an attempt to appeal to a broad ranging type of pensioners. Yes, it was toe tapping in places but that's not the Quo!!!!! I think Rick is quite right....... Francis (Rossi) should be left to his own devices and totally sink the Quo ship by himself. I'll say no more and have said too much already......... By the way........ that geezer from The Bill is quite versatile isn't he? he can do accordian very well

I didn't realise the Old Bill geezer (the one in the black suit) could do country and western...... Was it only me who spotted the likeness?
