Just a brief note of thanks to Mike for the prompt supply of phono plugs. As much as it is ever a pleasure handing over money, it was a pleasure doing business with you. ;D

Mike does SO much for this community and I'm going to spout so if you don't like it, exit now.
Mike sent me a modded V2 a while ago with a Little Pinkie supply and I loved the little beastie from the start. It had a clarity and punch like no other amp that I have and as I stated on the boards, it's the kind of amp that you just never would part with. It is a gorgeous piece of equipment.
Well Mike quietly modded my V2 recently with all kinds of jiggery pokery.
I've received the re-modded amp back and since I knew the original sound of it well I was able to instantly hear the difference.
I am not joking, it made the hairs of my neck go up. I put on some Spock's Beard, and from note one, I wondered how the fck do you get an amp to sound so amazing by switching components. It's not subtle, it's MASSIVE.
The noise floor is asolutely NON-EXISTENT. On full volume (with no sound playing of course) there is no hiss whatsoever. I have never heard such a quiet, black amp.
This amp has transformed my music into an emotional, wall pinning sound that has you absolutely transfixed by it's clarity and warmth and then suddenly, when the bass kicks in - WHAM. And this is on a K701. It's a MASSIVE sound that just holds you by the balls. In fact, the V2 is AMAZING with the K701.
I will treasure this amp for the rest of my life. It is one of the best things I've heard in a long time. REALLY, I'm not exaggerating. I'm not having a flavour of the month, it is truly spectacular and something that I never thought I would hear from a V2.
If you have an unmodded V2, I can absolute assure you that you ain't heard nuthin' until Mike gets in there.
I'm really not kidding. The music I was listening to has become so musical, that I completely forgot I was listening to an amp and headphones and it was bringing lumps to my throat. Even thinking of the sound now starts me off.
I honestly think that the V2 is my best sounding amp and I am absolutely gobsmacked.
Thanks Mike, because I often think that you are under-appreciated even here at RG. With all that stuff you have going out, very little has been written here about the sheer quality that you are able to produce from X-Cans. I absolutely love your frankness on these boards, your eye for a good buy and your amazing skills with the X-Cans. Too often, we forget to thank him as seen by the lack of feedback here in relation to the amount of work that he has done for us.

I second that.
Mike gave me an awesome deal on a modded V2 and it has in the long run brung dust to my V8, which I hardly use anymore..
So also big thumbs to Mike from the land of the vikings..
I also always point people in his direction, when the speak goes on the xcans on the danish forums..

Glad you like it Ian. Now you can start valve rolling, I'm happy with the overall sound, you can now fine tune it to your own ears with some nice valves. The valves that are in it are the same Russian 6H23N that were there before the further set of mods.... I think you would like the Philips 6922 and will send you a pair to try (sorry, forget to add them to the package).....
I appreciate feedback and normally get it via e-mail from customers, I don't encourage them to come on the forum and add feedback.... if someone says thanks via e-mail that puts a smile on my face.
Many thanks for your "public" feedback though Ian, it's most appreciated.
Mike.

It's a honour to deal with Mike, it couldn't be more pleasant. I got a very fair deal for the V1 that I have sold him. Highly recommended! Thank you, Mike
