What will you be planning to use it on? It would be nice to have a reference, like if you are choosing the pot for a pint vs ppa, my suggestions would vary.

Hi John, The OMEG is a lot cheaper www.rapidonline.com part number 65-1460 however you'll find they aren't as tight as the ALPS when it comes to matching.... very good pots for the money though. I'm not sure how to set it up so you get an e-mail everytime someone replies to your thread I'll look into it. Mike.

Hi I have bought something similar in size and looks from farnell for a headphone amp ... headwize.com/ubb/showpage.php?fnum=3&tid=6605Main thing that concerns me is all the caps in circuit compared to summit like a gilmore amp and also input phono's and the pot are off board...but still nice to be building after been away from DIY electroincs for so long. I even found a hammond 1455q2202 case supplier in the UK! Also i went to my local maplin (just after oredering most things from farnell) and out of 12 items only 6 are in stock! so will have to drive another 50 miles round trip to see if they are in stock in anotheer store - even thou i received all my farnell things the next day and the day after that - defo wont be wasting my time with maplin ( the new tandy ) again.. John

What are you looking for John? I keep a lot of stuff (including ALPS RK27 and smaller ALPS pots) Let me know what you're needing and I'll see if I can save you a 50 mile drive So, you're building the amp you link to on HeadWize??

Hi all
Well went to the other Maplin and they also had no stock or not enough of them! Talking capacitors here nothing bulky. So Ive just ordered them from Rapid ( they are having a end of month sale today).
So will probably receive in 2 days, or even tomorow knowing them.
John

Not only has no one EVER been banned from Headwize to my knowledge but if there ever was such a happening i would be VERY interested in learning what it took. Obviously off color language is not one or some of my previous "go fk yourself then die" posts would have been just cause and just as obviously calling a business DIY is not one or the joint would be empty

The "take over" was a complete coup with the "group" that had such issues with my trying to stop Head-fi from becoming that very same thing and that signed a petition to Jude saying "he goes or we do" actually running the show there (hosting the forums) and NOT Chu Moy who has been marginalised and who is the only one NOT making a profit there.
Headwize is a non-profit site that all the members of either make a profit or are potential customers and rare that I even bother stopping by anymore even though once my absolute favorite forums back in the dark ages when folks were happy just building an amp for personal use instead of going from"IT WORKS !" to "XXX Labs" and a product lineup a week later.
