Seconded. Every order I've placed with them has been delivered next day without fail. Never a problem and they are nice as ninepence on the phone.
BTW Mike, I see they appear to have stopped doing the 20K Alps pot; I ordered the 50k for my Mk2. What did you use? They are also temporarily out of stock of the 24V wall wart, but that was no issue as I've an old regulated 12V job which will do the Mk1 until I get round to building a dual regulated PSU for the Mk2. Seen any good schematics recently?

Some of the parts for building/modding the WNA headphone amp are not available from the catalogue distributors, or are very expensive if they are. Rapid no longer sell the Alps blue pots and they cost £15-16 ex vat from RS or Farnell. As far as I can tell dil8 heatsinks suitable for the AD843 aren't available anywhere. I have the 20K Alps pots available for £10, the dil8 heatsinks for £0.40, and my own version of the Brown Dog style soic8 to dil8 adaptors for £2. All prices include vat but exclude carriage. Hope I've posted this in the right place, no doubt Mike will move it if I haven't.

David, are you stocking AD 843s too?
I noticed that Rapid seemed to be phasing out the Blue Velvets when I built my Mk2. They had no 20k pot's left so I used a 50k. It seems fine; is there any benefit to be had from changing it for a 20k?

David, WNA Hi David, Nice to know you do the soic to dil adaptors I've got a couple of 8065's which need mounted on soic to dil..... great to know I won't have to order them from the USA. Cheers Mike.

My favorite supplier for both new projects and old restos is Antique Electric Supply. NOS/New/Used Tubes,Hammond enclosures, some cool kits, guitar and guitar amp parts, cloth covered wire, interesting knobs if you are into a "retro" look, resto part and schematics for old radios, passive parts..just a really cool place for the offbeat and the unusual at fair prices and service second to none. The selection of reproduction of speaker grille cloth and books for sale is worth a visit alone www.tubesandmore.comMy other "favorite" is Angela other than solid state devices such as transistors and chips if you need it they have it,also at a fair price.Even if you don't buy from them the tube amp projects there are a real diamond in the rough.Quality designs at a reasobale cost to build due to mostly lower cost parts being used yet totally upgradeable later to ultra-amp class. Two 6L5 guitar amp designs,a SE 300B WE91 semi-clone,a convertable 45/2A3 SET amp and finally a really cool triode strapped EL-34 Single Ended design for those who need a bit more power than the 9 Watts of the 300B SET amp.All cool, all easy to build and all using parts easily aquired www.angela.comand finally a seriously "different" kind of parts supplier that has stuff no one else does and if they did could not match the prices, check it out even if only for the cool pc boards and great knob selection or for the DIY Guitar FX plans Small Bear www.smallbearelec.com/StoreFront.bokI LOVE these pc boards for all things "one of" for the rest is good old Press N' Peel blue and where else you gonna get ivory chicken heads for $1.45 American ?

I wouldn't encourage that outfit xerxes, especially for components, they are your typical rip off audio boutique who prey on the gullible... just look at their ALPS RK27 "£23.85" you get the exact same pot at Deltron or Rapid for £8.50.... where does the extra £15.35 go? in their pockets of course. £13.39 for a 22uF ANSAR supersound cap, same thing from cricklewwood electronics = £8.50 Trust me, these audio boutiques are rip off merchants staffed by smug, greedy f**kers who will charge you the earth for components you can buy elsewhere at "sensible" prices.... absolute license to print money. Mike.
